Ok, I admit it. I am a female with no concept of automotive...anything. Going to the mechanic is akin to going to the dentist. It is always expensive, painful and they never let see the work done.
On the other hand, Ken at the 82nd st Clutch and Brake Doctors was great. He spoke to me like a customer, not a female and explained everything to me in detail. He also gave me options. Like "do you want new rotors or should we just machine them down?" When you spent your entire life having conversations like this:
"You gots to get awhole new transmision honey or you be sorry"
"But, sir, I think I just need an oil change"
"Nope, New Trannie or nothin"
It is a huge relief to have a real, grownup conversation with someone regarding my car. I will continue to go and spend my money with Ken at Clutch and Brake Doctors. Oh, and speaking of money, I have been told by lovers and friends that I got a great deal on my rotors. So go there already!
Pros: Treated like an equal
Cons: Located next to Burger King
