I took the Civil War Walking Tour on Sunday, November 16, 2008. I commented about fifteen minutes into the tour that we probably had drawn the "short straw" by not having Jack Thomson.....our "substitute" did not appear to be all that knowledgable and was down right "boring". I have taken a few tours in my travels including the "Jack the Ripper" tour in White Chapel, UK......when a tour guide needs to carry and keep keep referring to his 3 x 5 cards, he is not all that familiar with his subject. The tour was a big disappointment. My suggestion to anyone planning to take the tour should determine that they are getting the guide whose name and picture is on the advertisement......I would trust that he is better.
