wonderful Indian restaurant 8/29/2011

The host said the Wambatu Moju is one of the most popular dishes there - it's one of the best and most unique eggplant dishes I've ever had. Whole tender baby eggplants in a delicious sauce with delightful seasonings. The food is served elegantly on contemporary plates. Very friendly, excellent service. Can't wait to take friends and try more offerings! more

Indian food with a difference 7/27/2011

I am really, really impressed. My husband and I just felt like some Indian food, not knowing what it would be like and expecting the same old, same old. Well not so. It is definitely Indian, but unique, delicious and not what I have had any where else. From the mango lasi, that was not too sweet, to every dish that had perfectly blended flavors. I say this as it happens so often at indian restaurant the food is can either be bland or too strong. Every dish is just such a lovely surprise. I only wish they were closer to where I live, but it is worth the drive. more

fantastic addition to Rhinebeck 7/7/2011

This is not the first Indian restaurant in this location, but it is by far the best. It has only been open for a few weeks, and we have already eaten here twice. Everything is made fresh, and you can tell. Amazing flavors, delicious. A big difference between Cinnamon and its predecessors: the shrimp at Cinnamon was cooked perfectly. \r \r The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is the lack of music. It's a little quiet in there, you can almost hear the conversation from the table across the room. They just need to put on a little Indian music, then it will be 5 stars in my book. Either way - we'll still be stopping by once a week for our fix of Chicken Tikka Masala. more

Tasteful and tasty Indian in Rhinebeck 7/2/2011

Can't say enough about this new Indian Restuarant just south of Rhinebeck on Rte 9. The Cinnamon mixed grill provided a flavorful sampling of chicken, shrimp, ground lamb and vegetables as well as the most tender and generous lamb chop I have had in some time. The lamb vindaloo was too spicy for my palate but my husband and daughter hungrily ate it up, even dipping the nan into the left over sauce. The sabji bhaji ( mixed vegetables stir fried with ginger, cumin and spices) ....fantastic! And finally the deserts...let's just say the creamy Mango Kulfi was sublime. Besides the food, the owners are friendly and welcoming, the ambiance simple (and greatly improved), the service as it should be. We can not wait to return and I want to welcome this new restaurant and family to the Hudson Valley! more
