Good food - Careless waiters 1/6/2009

First time at this place and I must say, the food is delicious and the pancakes do not disappoint. Only problem was, there was a hair in the syrup!! I was completely disgusted. When I told the watier about it, he didnt even apologize!! He brought me another container of syrup and I had to send that one back too! Overall, my experience was disappointing due to the syrup fiasco, but the food was good. I will go back and give them another try. Hopefully they're more careful the next time.... more

Great food, HORRIBLE SERVICE! 12/8/2008

We have now been to Cici's twice after seeing them advertised on Citysearch. We live close and love going to brunch on the weekends. While the food is great and there is a vast selection of breakfast foods, the service is beyond disappointing. We went again yesterday hoping it would be better, only to be disappointed again. We were told the wait would be 20 mins, after waiting 45 we saw 2 spots at the bard and decided to sit there. You would think sitting at the bar where the wait staff constantly see you, the service would be good. NOPE. The food took 30 minutes to arrive, people seated after us were served their food and finished eating before our food even got to the table. Our drinks were not refilled, our diirty plates then sat in front of us for another 15 minutes. All the while, we are watching the wait staff hang out at the bar area chatting and ignoring us. What a nightmare our nice Sunday brunch turned into. \r \r Do yourself a favor and drive down the street to More Than Waffles, great breakfast and great service. We will be returning there for our Sunday brunch.\r \r Cici's service ruined the entire meal. Pros: Great food Cons: HORRIBLE SERVICE, RUINS THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE more

Newcomer to the Valley is a Breakfast Sensation! 6/18/2008

If the crowd doesn't convey the rising popularity of this new valley breakfast/brunch hot spot, perhaps the food will speak for itself. The menu offers a gigantic variety of dishes for breakfast and lunch, from pancakes and omelettes, to burgers and sandwiches. The meals are substantially large and substantailly fantastic! Their plate-filling pancake section offers different choices of fruity, savory, or sweet, their egg dishes can be made with anything you woud like, and their multitude of other breakfast and lunch meals are made to satisfy. Pros: Huge menu with a variety of tasty items to choose from Cons: Long waits during weekend a.m. hours more

Best Valley Breakfast Cafe 6/24/2007

If breakfast or lunch is your thing and you happen to be in the Valley, then you have to try CiCi Cafe in Tarzana. It is by far the best breakfast joint I have ever experienced. The menu goes on forever. You would think that with so many choices, something would be wrong. Not so. Every item is done perfectly well. The omlets are to die for and the pancakes are incredible. I have never seen anyone actually finish a pancake order, they are that large. This is the place you learn to share a meal. If you are a coffee lover, start your breakfast off with their French-pressed coffee. It is delicious. My lady friend said the teas were also first rate. The place is always packed, so it can get noisey. Wait till you see that menu. Wow! Pros: Outstanding food and service Cons: the noise more
