Editorial review from Citysearch 2/6/2014

I attended Christian Help today for food and was turned away because the time for the pantry had changed to a time I did not know because I had not been to the organisation in months due to not having a car. The volunteer was quite rude and short with me. She also became defensive to another volunteer who I had asked to help me speak to the manager. She then became more obviously standoffish with me so much so that the other volunteer looked at me bewildered when this lady who was dealing with me had left her seat. Apparently the founder had gone to get me groceries and this volunteer thought i had gone behind her back to ask for groceries by asking for the manager, when in fact all i wanted to do was complain about HER mannerisms. The 'founder' became very rude and disrespectful towards me when i noted that i hadnt asked for food by returning but only wanted to speak to someone about the volunteer. he raised his voice and stepped out into the hall and told me to get out. He proceeded to act rude and disrespectful toward so that the other persons in the building nearby just stood there and looked blankly, besides the one volunteer who made it her business to get up and tried to get into the middle as if she is the founder's wife. raising her voice a bit and speaking to me with a snubby tone and filled with sarcasm. i see now why the place cannot keep any volunteers and why some volunteers working to assistant with job placement act is if they are walking on egg shells. the founder was down right degrading and how he spoke to me as if i was a dog, telling me that he's tired of dealing with people like me, and when the volunteer has to deal with the types of people like me all day she is obviously a bit tired and so if she spoke a certain way i should understand. he barked at me to leave before he called the police and raised his voice more than once telling me to get out, as i was choking bck tears trying to explain myself, that i lived in oviedo and have two kids and only came for food because i had no choice and the volunteer didnt have to speak to me in the manner that she did, and i did not appreciate how he was speaking to me because i did not disrespect anyone there. she volunteer said i disrespected the founder by refusing the groceries. i did not refuse the groceries, simply only told him i had not returned asking for groceries because the ;lady thought i was going behind her back. for a place and the supposed founder to be running a supposed Christian and Christ centered organisation HIM NOR THAT particular volunteer did not act Christ and Christian like. It is people like them especially the founder's demeaning words and behavior towards me that causes people not to want to praise or follow God. Who people like me are I do not k now but he obviously thought me as a needy and desperate person and spoke as thought he looks down on the clientle of the organisation. S I told the volunteer, I bet she doesnt know a day of need in her life. I suppose the founder doesnt either. It is a shame these are the people who seek and get tax breaks and feel this way about humanity and the needy. more
