I've been a regular customer at Chow Thai for a while since I moved here few years ago. I have fallen in love with the Curry Bento Box that they have lately! It's such a variety of soup, salad, appetizer, entree, and ice cream for the nice finish..... It's really cheap too! I always get the Bento Box Yellow Curry....my favorite!!!! more

ALL DAY---Happy Hours!!!! AWESOME!!!! 6/13/2010

I have been to Chow Thai since I was in school. I just have a chance to go back and check the place out again after a long while... It's been in business for 15 years and they have celebrated with a HAPPY DAYS=ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR!.....OMG! It's really a great deal to try a wine of the week only $5 a glass, also well drinks for ONLY $4, plus you can have featuring cocktails for $5 and $6!!! With the Spice Up Summer Menu to go along with the celebration is very interesting too. I found my new favorites--- the Thai BBQ Chicken Bento Box that comes with a cup of soup, salad, great flavor BBQ chicken, and the pork skewers are so delish!, plus you get fresh fruits and a scoop of ice cream too! What a great deal for only about $15!!!! There are 4 or 5 more Bento Box selections to choose from. My friends and I love them all, but haven't tried them all yet--- but we will...very soon! Pros: Great Thai food in Addison, All Day Happy Hours! more

Great food 2/19/2010

I have eaten here close to a hundred times. Each visit was perfect except one. Consistant quality, very good wait staff. The beef satay is fantastic. The sticky beef is superb. Best beef salad I have ever had. Great curry dishes and noddle dishes. By far the best coconut soup in DFW. Pros: Best beef salad Cons: Pricey more

very good Thai Food 7/13/2009

Alright 7/6/2009

I love thai food and have been to many thai places. I was eager to try this place after reading the good reviews. I had the Tom Yum soup which was spicy and sweet at the same time. In my experience, the soup is not supposed to be sweet. I had their Pad Kee Maw for entree and asked them to make it spicy. However, chili was all that i tasted. Finally the fried banans were also not very good. I would say it is a little pricey for thai food. I would not go back. Pros: Good spice level more

Finally - Great Thai Food in DFW 3/23/2009

I am so excited to find Chow Thai on a friend's recommendation. I've been trying to find great, flavorful Thai in DFW forever with no luck. The menu is pretty extensive and has a dish that I love but rarely see at Thai restaurants around here - Nam Tok (grilled beef salad with lime, chili, mint, cilantro, red onion). I ordered this dish and when it came out, the beef was seasoned and cooked perfectly and the flavors were outstanding. You can order each dish at your preferred temperature, which is nice. I ordered medium, and probably could have gone a little spicier with it. However, the other flavors were intense and perfectly arranged. We also ordered the Pad Kee Mow, which was delicious too. This place is priced a little higher than other Thai restaurants, but the food is so good that it is totally justified - you get what you pay for, after all. I just can't wait to come back here again and very highly recommend Chow Thai! Pros: Food, Flavors, Atmosphere Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

family business!!! 7/25/2007

I love the homey feel of this resturant, One of my family member owns it, and her twin sister owns two resturants both called Samui. The food there is honestley amazing and I grew up with it, you should try this, the service may be one problem because the people who work there are mostly family whis means the barely speak english!!! try raad na pronounced lad na with pork and vegies. more

Good and Spicy Thai Cuisine 6/27/2007

Chow Thai is a little out of the way place amongst many other more prominently displayed restaurants, so finding it was kinda like finding a jewel in the rough. What I didn't learn until later is that Chow Thai is owned by the same people who own ""Mangos"" and ""Chow Thai Pacific Rim"", so you know the restaurant will be slightly expensive and very good. The restaurant has a nice contemporary design, with Asian art displayed on the walls and light jazz playing. When we arrived we were quickly seated without hesitation, even though we felt that we were a little underdressed for this place. I ordered a grilled beef salad, which is spicy beef on a bed of lettuce served with sticky rice. The sticky rice was real sticky rice, and really sticky too. The dish was quite filling and tasted excellent! I decided to be on the cautious side and order it with only medium heat. However, even with medium heat the dish was very spicy. My nose was running, and I felt very warm. I could barely see, because my eyes were watering so much. But it was wonderful! The waiter was very attentive, bringing us refills as we rapidly emptied our glasses. All the service was very polite and attentive. For dessert we had fried banana spring rolls and a chocolate mousse with ice cream. The desserts were very fresh and very tasty. Their ice cream may have been made in-house. for two drinks, two dishes, and two desserts our bill came out to about $45 before tip. I do feel that the little extra I paid was certainly worth it. Pros: The food, the service, almost everything else Cons: difficult to find location more

not good 4/25/2007

I expected this restaurant to be really good because it locates in Addison among other top places, however, they do not live up to expectation. They can't even alter a little to fit your taste. The waitress doesn't check on you that much. I just didn't have much fun like I did at all other Thai restaurant in town more

Not Bad 4/5/2007

I liked their appetizer menu because it has lots of variety. We ordered few appetizers for dinner and it was a lot of food. It was not over priced or cheap quality. I had much better Thai foods in other cities in USA. Pros: Large Food Quanity Cons: Broken Bathrooms more
