Not that great 12/29/2011

I don't know how any restranuant can mess up beef teriyaki but Chow did. I went for lunch a few weeks a go and thought the chow mein was good. So took my family during the holidays. Big mistake. My beef teriyaki consisted of steamed broccoli, slices of luke warm beef and teriyaki sauce drizzled over it. It wasn't the best needless to say. My husband had the citrus beef and he thoroughly didn't like it. The service was mediocre. I won't be going back. more

OVER PRICED!!!!! 8/25/2007

This is the most expensive Thai restaurant. Extremely overpriced!!! I had the Pad Thai, it was $16.95 for noodles that were very salty! The food was average. The driinks were $10.00 a piece and watered down. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. That was the only good thing about this place. Our entire party was shocked at the prices this restaurant charges for thai food (which is normally very inexpensive). Cons: Extremely Overpriced! more

pricey? 7/25/2007

This is the most pricey of the family owned resturants, I am part of the Virasin family, and if you think this one is overpriced try, Mango's, Chow Thai [this is Chow Thai Pacific Rim there is a difference his one is more fusion] or one of her sisters resturants there are two named Samui. Pros: pricey Cons: sistering resturant! more

Expensive, Bad Food 7/21/2007

The food was severely overpriced. Pad Thai at Pei Wei tasted about the same with a larger quantity at half price. They just simply scooped coconut milk over panang. $14 for duck noodle soup is beyond my imagination. They have nice decorations and service was not bad. Overall, a bad experience...stay away from this place unless you want to show off to your friend that you have deep pockets. Pros: Prompt service Cons: extremely overpriced more

Best Chile Mango Sea Bass on the planet! 10/30/2006

We live near by and visit occasionally because it is very expensive, especially if you have kids. However, for a special treat, I go for their Mango Chile Sea Bass with coconut rice and vegetables. It is off the charts good. I have converted many to this dish and they lick the plate. Other food there is fairly good (although the tempura shrimp in a martini glass with 3 sauces is pretty great too) and the Tom Kha soup (with or without noodles is great). The mango sea bass is worth the trip. It is never busy which makes me wonder how they stay opened, the guy must have some bucks. But, it is a good special occasion meal. Not great for kids although mine like the fried rice. more

A Lot for a Little 3/29/2006

The food was severely overpriced. The restaurant was nearly empty, so wait staff was all gathered around us, watching our every move. Ive had better pad thai at take out places for a fraction of the cost. Overall, a bad experience, enough to come home and write this review to warn others. Pros: highly priced Cons: bland food more

Did not meet expectations 3/6/2006

We had read rave reviews for this Restaurant in both Guide Live and your site but were quite disappointed. The food was good but nothing great and the prices were definitely high. The grilled Tilapia that was on the special was a little undercooked and though the staff were very courteous about it, it still took the charm away from teh vening. The chicken and prawn dish was good and so were the crab and avocado rolls. Overall not a great experience. more

The Best Pad Thai in dallas 1/29/2006

It was my First time there and I was on a First Date it was the Perfect Setting. The place is gorgeous inside I ordered a Sushi roll for us to share as an appetizer I had Pad Thai which I order at every Thai restaurant and this one was hands down the best. My date had the Scallop special that the chef recommended she loved it. I will defintly return Pros: romantic, good wine, notable chef more

Great experience 1/18/2006

My husband and I recently dined at the Pacific Rim for the first time. It was a wonderful experience! The service was prompt and our waiter was very attentive. The atmosphere was relaxing. The food presentation was beautiful and the food was great and very affordable. We will certainly go back! A very friendly and inviting place to dine. more

wonderful journey for the senses 1/18/2006

After sampling many of the main courses, I must say I am very impressed with the offerings at Pacific Rim. The avacado and crab rolls are to die for! The service is respectful and excellent. be sure to save room for dessert- the thai specialties are wonderful! Pros: great food, great service more

Amazing! 1/17/2006

I recently joined some friends to their favorite after-work haunt---Chow Thai Pacific Rim. What a great experience! I've had Thai food from New York to Dallas and this is the best ever. After the chef came to our table and helped us decide on our orders, I settled on the pork Pad Kee Mow, which he helped me pair with the perfect wine. It was an outstanding experience and one that I expect to have again very soon! Pros: great food, amazing bar, attentive service more

Worst Dining Experience 11/19/2005

The worst dining experience of my life. Owner/Manager was extremely unprofessional, rude and not service oriented. Not a Kid Friendly place as the owner/manager rudely ordered us to ""Control the Kids"" that were simply 2 years old. Have been to some of the nicest places but have never been so insulted and humiliated and literally driven out of the establishment. Did not even get a chance to order. Cons: , Horrible Service more

Amazing food and decor 6/21/2005

Don't pass up this amazing restaurant. The decor is as delicious as the food. The menu covers traditional Thai dishes to steaks and lobster with an Asian fusion flair. The sushi is also fresh and and filling. If you get a chance to be in the area, i recommend that you give your tastebuds a thrill. Pros: Food, Decor, Service more

Wonderful Thai Cuisine 5/27/2005

Since I moved from the north east, I have found it difficult to find good asian food. I have certainly found it here. The presentation almost made the food too pretty to eat. The taste didn't disappoint me! It is the perfect restaurant to take someone who is not familiar with Thai food. I'm sure their first experience will have them coming back for more. more

Thai with a Twist 11/22/2002

I had driven by Pacific Rim several times thinking that it looked truly interesting. Little did I know what was really in store for me. What I discovered was a fusion of different cuisines that had a distinct Thai basis. For instance, there is a Thai desert that consists of sweet (sticky) rice with a little coconut milk topped with a Thai version of custard. Pacific Rim does their twist and ""fuses"" Thai with French cooking by topping the sweet rice with crème brulée. I was in heaven! As for the entrees, appetizers, etc., 150 words are not enough to capture the experience. After one visit, I know that I will be going back again and again and again to sample everything on the menu. I can't wait to go back. See you there!! Pros: innovative dishes, great service, cool atmosphere more
