Chipman Relocations

I would not recommend this company. I hired them because I did have a fairly good experience with them moving a girlfriend. But for myself I had valuable items that the salesman grossly under insured. When we asked if this was adequate for our move we were assured it was fine. We it turned out that the insurance is 60 cents per pound! What a joke; the younger movers did a lot of damage to our property, ruined the epoxy floor by dragging the refridgerator across the floor along with the tool box. They broke the door to a biedermier chest from not wrapping it as it was delivered. Scrapped wood framed chair, punctured parchment shades and broke other items; scrapped frames on painting that they didn't cover (some of which I never put on my claim). Our reimbursement was a complete joke. We had some very expensive items that one of the movers thankfully was very careful with...but we would have not had any coverage had they destroyed this items like the other things. In short...do your homework and don't be quick to believe what a salesman tells you. Cover your bases. This was not a cheap move either...we paid them very well. Infact more than other quotes. Move anything of immense value yourself because movers really don't care. Quick to move you but don't follow thru with what they promise. I recently had to leave Orange County due to some unfortunate circumstances. Moving is something that I hate to do, and I enlisted Chipman Relocations to help me out. They did a great job. I moved from OC to Birmingham, AL. Chipman Relocations was professional and accommodating, as I had items that were being shipped from 2 different locations: home and a storage facility. All of my items arrived in Birmingham perfectly, and within the delivery window that I was originally given by Rudy (he's great!!!). I recommend Chipman to anyone having to move. We hired Chipman to move us July 1, 2008 and all looked good with the initial quote. The day of arrival it all went bad and got worse. Justin Chipman lied about everything. Our belongings were not delivered as scheduled and when they finally arrived only half of our items were on the truck. They said they did not have enough room and did not know when they would deliver the rest. Our belongings would sit in their warehouse until they could find another truck to come our way. One month later they delivered the rest of our stuff but boxes were smashed, our Hockey table broken and my dishes and crystal broken. There so called coordinator was useless. She Never new how to answer any questions and very rude. Justin Chipman was very uncooperative and flat out lied and at times silence on the other end of the telephone line. I used Chipman to move my parents out of their house in Fountain Valley to Leisure World. I have moved many of times in the past 15 years, some good, many bad, and I have to say this move to Leisure World tops the list of best moves.
