Best

Before coming here, I had no idea that such an array of ice cream flavors even existed! China town isn't exactly famous for its ice cream, but after being intensely nagged bout it...

If, just like me, you can't get enough of the traditional japanese green tea ice cream, DON'T go to this much raved about Chinatown spot to get it. Despite the reviews from other ...

A NYC Classic 11/30/2005

I remember coming here as a little kid with my parents. This store has grown quite popular over the years and rightly so. Everyone from NYC knows about it. The ice cream is to die for!!! I just had a my Thanksgiving dinner party and all my friends were requesting that I get a pumpkin pie ice cream cake for dessert. My favorites are the lychee and the almond cookie. more

exotic ice cream 10/2/2005

Ever wonder how green tea or red bean ice cream tastes like? Well, Chinatown Ice Cream Factory has the exotic asian flavor for you to try. Situated in the heart of Chinatown between Mott and Bowery Street, Chinatown Ice Cream factory offer flavors that traditional American stores don't have. Although, the price is a little high, and they don't give you as much ice cream for the amount you pay for, this is the one place you must try at least once. more

Great Unique Ice Cream 8/18/2005

They have many unique flavors that can’t be found in most ice cream places. It even sounds healthy like mango, lychee, coconut, avocado (which I’m not sure I want to try), etc. My favorite are mango and coconut flavors. The only problem with the place is that it is small and there are no seats to sit down and enjoy the ice cream. The place is pretty easy to find, my friends and I just look for the big flag of the green dragon while we walk around Chinatown. more

Unique flavors 8/15/2005

Located in the heart of Chinatown, it offers many different flavors that can't be picked up at a regular ice cream shop. They have flavors such as red bean, green tea, and lychee. They have traditional flavors like vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry as well. It's not expensive for a cup, so it's worth a try. They also sell candy. more

Great treat for yourself 8/14/2005

Chinatown ice cream factory is probably the best ice cream parlor in that area. They are small but has a respectable amount of choices to choose from. During the weekend nights, the lines usually line up out to the doors. People go there all the time because the ice cream really is pretty damn good. Many people like the Red Bean ice cream, which is a special blend that's not available in most ice cream parlors. I've tried it and must admit it is rather tasty. They also have a flashy logo of a cute cartoon dragon holding a cup of ice cream. I bought myself one of their store t-shirts because I just adore that dragon so much. They have a flag of the dragon hanging outside in case you're looking for it. more

Fascinating, really! 8/12/2005

This place makes their very own ice cream. How cool is that? Get it.. "cool"... Anyway, you'll find flavors here you'll find no where else! From Mango to Loong An and Lychee. You can even get a Chinatown Ice Cream Factory t-shirt! What's better than fresh ice cream? Of course, that'd be free ice cream. It's worth your try! more

Heaven 8/10/2005

Yummy Ice Cream! 7/14/2005

There are a lot of fancy ice cream places in New York, and this is definitely not one of them. They keep things simple and have a lot of wonderfuly and yummy flavors. I would recommend trying something different. My favorite is their mango ice cream. It is so creamy and delicious! Their lychee is also good. more
