Chin Chin is a great chain since the food is consistantly good enough that you actually forget its a chain. The items are fresh and tasty with the right balance of flavor. The sampling mention that allows you to try 3 items as small plates is brillant, especially when you can't decide what to order since it's all delicious. more

GROSS! 10/19/2007

I've never been to the actual restaurant, we just had delivery and it was disgusting. We had the honey glazed spicy shrimp and there was an inch of uncooked batter on the outside of the shrimp. The food quality is terrible! Price does not match the quality of the food. I would rate it lower than chinese fast food. It was GROSS! The Beef/Broccoli was undercooked as well. Thinking about it now makes me naucious. Pros: They deliver Cons: FOOD QUALITY IS TERRIBLE, not worth the money more

The food here is pretty standard fare, it's nothing special. It's kind of loud too. Pros: Parking in back, value eating for Sunset Plaza Cons: uninspired food, noisy, staff seems overwhelmed more

The food here is pretty standard fare, it's nothing special. It's kind of loud and always busy, a little too busy. Out of all the restaurants in heart of the Plaza, it's probably the only value eatery. So if you are trapped here because your Lambo broke down in front of some vaguely French sounding restaurant and you have to save your cash for the tow truck driver, you could pinch your nose and you might be surprised that the food isn't that bad. Pros: Parking in back, value eating for Sunset Plaza Cons: uninspired food, noisy, staff seems overwhelmed more

Food is OK 8/12/2007

This was my second time at chin chin. I still am not impressed with their food. Lots of people love them and I don't understand why. I had their shrimp fried rice yesterday. I thought it was very mediocre. It wasn't disgusting but it wasn't great either. First off, you don't even get full size shrimp in the rice. Its chopped shrimp which is bogus. The shrimp fried rice at Kung Pao is much, much better. If you want good chinese go to wokcano....its my favorite spa. this place just doesn't do it for me. It may be because I am from the east coast and the chinese food their overall is much better so my standards are a little high. But to be honest, I wasn't expecting much and still was disappointed. more

Great Oriental Chicken Salad 6/19/2007

I loved their oriental chicken salad. It was a huge serving and the dressing was delicious. I sat indoors where it was nice and cool. Pros: Good food, great serving size. Cons: Server was a bit slow bringing the check. more

Potstickers are amazing 3/21/2007

I have been going here for years and love their potstickers. They are really delecious and the garlice soy dipping sauce that they serve with the potstickers is also very good. The combination of the two is just amazing. At times i just go to have the potstickers. The rest of their menu is also good, but for me the potstickers stand out. more

Have been going here for years. They recently went through a make-over and came up with a new menu (higher prices to match!). The chinese chicken salad which is their signature, had very little "chicken" and the dressing was overpowering with soy sauce and too much ginger. the kung pao shrimp had 6 medium size shrimp and was loaded with red peppers as a filler - a rip off at $13.95. You even have to pay for a small bowl of white rice! - don't waste your money! Pros: nice spot on Sunset Cons: food overpriced and not worth it more

Chin Chin isn't that bad! 6/6/2006

I make my way to Chin Chin at least three times a month and I must say that it isnt that bad. Sometimes, while dining there, the service can be a little shoddy, but nothing bad enough to make me complain. I feel, you get what you pay for and when you dine in such a pretentious, illusory and conformist location such as Sunset Plaza, you in a way gotta expect such service from the people. However, poor service ANYWHERE is unacceptable in my book. Its been my experience that the carry-out service, which is in the rear of the restaurant, accessible by the Sunset Plaza parking lot, offers larger portions and the food has been much warmer. Chin Chin even delivers in the zip codes of 90046, 90069, 90035, 90036 and 90028. Overall, for the price we pay for Chin Chins food, the place just isnt that bad. Pros: Great Location, Ample Parking , Cheap Prices Cons: Phony Service, Smoking is Permitted, While dining Outside more

Panda Express or Chin Chin Grill 3/26/2006

Being a server in the service industry for ten years I have learned a thing or two about cleanliness, food preperation and especially....service. In my experience as a server and a guest in this restaurant I find the food greasy, stingy, and not well prepared. The service is mediocre and similar to what you can find in any "hole in the wall" Chinese restaurant in Los Angeles. The obviously "tired" "bitter"senior servers, remodeled unsemetrical, unpleasant, and tasteless decor, followed an obvious disrespect for Chinese culture makes this restaurant a joke to visit. The service is "hit or miss" depending on which server you get. There were many complaints being a server there that I received as well as many complaints dining there as a guest. I have heard and had friends that had "tummy rumbles" after. The Orange chicken is greasy and other signature items are far below consumption quality. more
