Dr. Simmons the worst 10/18/2016

I don't know what all these people are talking about, praising Dr. Simmons, she's the worst Dr I ever dealt with, no bedside manner at all, she just wants to get out of you as soon as possible. Didn't feel like she was interested or even wanted to be there. Just horrible. I switch to Dr. Fisher, could no be happier, she's sweet with the kids and always open to give advise with a friendly demeanor. more

Dr Simmons - Children's First Pediatrics 3/8/2012

I would like to express that I could not be more satisfied with this practice. Dr. Simmons and her staff have been such a blessing in our lives and my daughter is inspired to follow a career as a Pediatrician because of the influence from Dr. Simmons. Her staff that has been there from her beginnings, Brenda and Jenn are the most caring people and my dear Liz Bitgood who has since left the practice because of a move has been a Godsend to me and my children. Dr. Simmons if you read these reviews, we are so appreciative for you and you wonderful Staff! The Anderson's more

I Won't Take My Kids There Anymore 7/26/2011

Both my kids were misdiagnosed at their last appointments. My 1.5 yr old had a sinus infection and fever. They didn't notice, even though he had a runny nose, and I suggested that they check his temperature again because he was hot / flush. He had the sinus infection for TWO office visits also (several months). An ENT diagnosed it the following week. My oldest had a UTI. When I told Dr Simmons that she couldn't hold her pee for even 2 hrs, I was told that's 'normal' (its not!). She had all the symptoms of a UTI, but Dr Simmons never asked. When she started spontaneously bedwetting, I knew something was wrong. Dr Simmons just goes through a checklist at each appt. She doesn't address concerns, or THINK. It's just a place to go for vaccinations. more

Top Notch 8/11/2010

What makes Dr. Simmons a fine pediatrician is not her bedside manner, which is great! But the fact that she is thorough and complete in ensuring that proper diagnostics are performed to ensure serious childhood illness are ruled out when symptoms require it. The bonus with Dr. Simmons is she's also great with my daughter - very real and down to earth. But in the end, what matters most is a proper diagnosis. She's on the money! more

Like Dr. Simmons but concerned about the practice 2/17/2010

I've been going to the practice since I had my first child, who is now 2.5 years old. I like my son's dr (Dr. Simmons) but am concerned about the shape of the practice. Drs seem to disappear and I have no notice even though I am at the practice all the time (I have a 2 year old and a 6 month old). One of the new drs, Dr. Fisher is awful. I cringe everytime she's the on-call dr who calls me back or if we're stuck with her for a sick visit. I don't trust her care and I am looking for a new group even though we've always loved and trusted Dr. Simmons. And we were so sad when Liz left. The "new" lactation consult stinks in comparison to Liz! more

Luckily I have switched to Doctor Simmons practice and could not be happier! She is professional and caring, 2 things I look for in a doctor. Highly recommended. more

Saddly not the same anymore! 6/29/2009

My son is 5 I have been going there since he was born. and my older step son is 15 been going there since he was 8. Rooms were beautiful and the STAFF was great! Dr. Simmons and I never got a long do to her lack of bed-side manors. but her office was so comfortable and the other doctors so great I always loved going there! Sadly first to leave was Dr.Levingston, then Dr.Haines, than Dr.McCuyen, then Dr. Lee, now Dr.Carrol-Grims. Something is fishy that a practice that looses 5 AWESOME doctors like that. Now they have cut back on their staff, no more Meagan, Kathy, and worst of all SERENA! .... With all the leavings I not willing to let my sons health be in jeopardy and I have switched pediatricians. Also have to boys and her refusal to fire a male MD would have made it difficult to bring my sons there when they were older anyway. more

This practice stinks! 6/23/2009

Bad: I have been sending my 2 1/2 year old son here for a little less than 2 years. The practice has gone downhill since Dr. Levinson & Haines left. 3 times they have not returned my phone calls when my son was sick, and one time he ended up in Hasbro ICU for a day and a half because of a misdiagnosis on their part. I will not be recommending them to anyone!. more

since inception 10/31/2008

My son now 20(now has adult doctor) and daughter 11 have been going to her since the beginning. I have always been able to get a same day sick visit. They always call back even in the middle of the night when needed. They follow through in the hospital with phone calls for emergency. I like the yearly physicals. She is personable and very professional even with teenage boys. That's a tall order. He felt comfortable with a woman doctor. After over 10 years I don't have a single bad thing to say. more

Dr Simmons is a excellent doctor 8/6/2007

We have been seeing Dr Roxanne Simmons for nearly 2 years now. She is an excellent doctor. She is patient, friendly and kind. She takes her time explaining everything about the visit and welcomes questions from new parents. I never feel rushed when I am at Children's First. Its nice what we are not just "another" patient, Dr. Simmons makes you feel like you are 'family" Caryn S. more

A pediatrician who really cares 8/19/2005

Dr. Simmons is one of the best doctors in northern RI. One of the things that I like best about her practice is that if you call because your child is sick, you will usually get in to see the doctor that day. The practice is very good about you calling back if you have a question. Every procedure is explained to you in a manner which you can understand. If your child is hospitalized, someone from the practice sees your child every day. Absolutely the best Pediatric practice out there. more
