HUGE scam. My husband dropped off two pairs of work pants for me at this dry cleaners and they lost them. They kept pushing us off and telling us to ""be patient"" as they looked for the pants, but a month and a half went by and when my husband went in for a third time to inquire about the pants, they told him I had picked them up weeks ago. I came right over to refute the claim, but they lied to our faces and claimed I had already picked up the pants. NO apology, NO refund (each pair of pants was 80 dollars from banana republic). Unfortunately, these are dishonest people and I do not recommend using their services. more

I recently had a dress fitted at Chesterfield's. They have an excellent tailor. The problem is they try and swindle you out of your money. I was told the alteration was going to be $100 which was overpriced in my opinion. I told them it should fit perfect. They agreed. After 2 fittings the dress was still entirely too big. The tailor agreed. At that moment one of the other employees came over and told me that taking in the back was more money, PLUS the tailor had worked a whole day on the dress so if I wanted it to fit how I want I have to pay more. WHAT? I was told to alter this dress to my satisfaction would be $100. I don't know about you guys but when I get something tailored isn't it supposed to fit in the end? I left with my big dress and smaller checking account more

I have to differ with the negative reviews. Note they are not recent. We have an account here, and have had good service for many years. I do believe it has improved over the years, as well. They DO deliver single items now! The service and quality is now Excellent (there may have been a few problems years ago--don't go by that). We tried almost every cleaner in the neighborhood, some much less convenient to our apartment, and have settled on Chesterfield for all our business. They have updated their cleaning techniques to the newest (no ""funny"" smell on knits, for example). Their tailoring is very fast, beautiful and fairly priced. I would say we RARELY have a problem with getting an item back on time, and we usually ask for next day and even same day is handled if you request and get there early enough. My daughter needed new jeans shortened for a dance ASAP and they saved me! I find the service very polite and efficient and also knowledgeable. They are specialists at shortening jeans and matching the original hem so you can't tell they were shortened. They also fixed a zipper on my daughter's coat at no charge, because it would have been very expensive to replace the whole zipper! I've never written a review before but I was so dissapointed with the service here that I felt the need to relay my experience. They promised next day delivery and did not follow through. After a few days of not hearing from them, I called to inquire where my item was and they said they could not deliver only a single item. They told me they mistakenly told me they would deliver my item and that it was impossible for them to deliver only one item. The unfriendly manager told me he knew they made the mistake (and even fired the employee that told me that), but refused to take action to fix it. I had to leave work early to pick it up. \r \r If you do choose to go here, good luck rationalizing with the unintelligent manager if you encounter any problems. Pros: My pants weren't ruined.
