Ever since I wandered in about 1 1/2 years ago, despondent about the sad state of my hair, Hair By Robb is the only salon I use for color & cut. , My color is just wonderful, Robb, the owner, give me the best haircuts. Renting a salon chair in Studio City is very expensive let alone an entire studio in a reputable salon. The only way to be able to afford it is to have a huge, loyal clientele. The only way to have a huge, loyal clientele is to be exceptional at what you do. I read the crazy review below and was blown away! First of all hair is NOT everything and if it is to you then I am so, so sorry for you. Second of all Vidal Sassoon trained hairstylists are some of the best in the world. The technique needs no improvement, it is flawless. It is timeless. I have have had three Vidal trained stylists from different generations and they are all incredible. Chess & Burman has got it right. You can walk in and go to anyone there and get an incredible cut or color. I know, I own a high end salon in Studio City and I would go to any one of the stylists at Chess & Burman I would be lucky to have any one of them working in my salon. In my opinion, the best colorist in the city is Robb Ness at H.B.R Salon. I used to go to Robb when he was at Imageiii Salon and Canyon Salon. I was so happy to find him again! When he does my highlights, he makes sure to only lighten the roots of the strands he worked on last time. With other colorists, the highlights would look good the first time but then after the second or third time, my entire head would be solid blonde. I recently found H. B. R. Salon on citysearch. I made an appointment to see Robb and could not be happier. I was greeted promplty at the front by Robb, and he took me to his chair for a consultation. We had a lengthy discusssion, and decided together what would be best for me. Robb gave me the shampoo of a lifetime, and he worked his magic. I have decided to tell the world!! Your hair is everything. I had moved to the area from the South Bay and searched for weeks to try and find a reputabe, salon with SKILLED stylists. Based on the reviews, I finally chose this place. I spoke to two different receiptionists just to make sure they knew my requests which was a simple ""long layered hair cut on curly hair"". They put me with a girl who had super curly hair and I interviewed her twice before I went in. Basically, in a nutshell, Hair dressers are ONLY as good as their skill level, creativity and ability to LISTEN and interpret PROPERLY. When you lack all of those, you will NOT end up with a cut that is good. If you have hair that works in any situation, good for you, it's your place. If you have ANY kind of issues such as cowlicks, flatness, whatever, DON""T GO HERE> THey lack serious skill. This girl was so proud that she trained at VIDAL SASOON but GUESS WHAT, that was 25 years ago and that style of cut has improved DRASTICALLY, just like my first cell phone in 1994. the cut is AWFUL and it's been 5 months and I still won't let a stylist near it because of this skillless girl. I feel that a salon needs to represent themselves as a unity NOT individual people. This way, there's a brand and a mission statement that theyre sticking by such as, ""we aim to please or satisfy"" not, hey, they're renters, good luck. I just got back from a first time visit to a lady named Heidi. I don't know her last name but she's in room #30. I admit I was nervous to have someone new cut and style my hair. This woman is a sweetheart and totally amazing! Not only was she friendly and took time to listen to what I wanted but she was fast. As we made conversation she just snipped away. I did worry that she wasn't paying attention. However, after she was finished with me I honestly can say that she made me look like a Playboy Bunny. The style is so youthful, yet glamourous. I've got the biggest smile on my face. I came home and called my husband and told him he was taking me out to Beverly Hills for dinner tonight. Thank you Heidi! I'll be coming back again. I was referred to Sophie by one of my closest friends. After years of seeing my friend have better hair than me, i decided to dump my old haistylist and try someone new. I was a little nervous because i had been going to my hairstylist for years. But as soon as i met Sophie i knew i was in good hands. She gave me a great consultation first, asking me questions about my hair and for my opinion and then she gave me her ideas. She then proceeded to hilight and 'glaze' my hair, something i had never done before. It left my hair feeling like silk. I was excited about having my hair cut at Hair By Robb after reading the awesome reviews, and I was pleased to discover that they are true! Robb cut my hair, I asked for trim and to improve the overall style. He listened to me and gave me some good suggestions. Right after it was styled I thought that overall it was a nice haircut, but the more I look at it the more I love it, it makes me feel great and it's elegant and modern. Now I understand why people come from all over to have their hair cut by him! more

Ok so I've been to a lot of hair stylist and they all seem to do the same old style, then a friend told me about Hair by Robb...Robb looked at my hair and I told him my hair history, he sent me off for a great shampoo then Robb starts snipping away. when i was done it looked great! and it looked very different from the old look...but...the real test was the next day when i do it myself. well its been 3 weeks now and I am still very happy with Robb and my new cut. Went to get my hair cut a couple of weeks ago, and had a wonderful experience. After spending a lot of money over the years at Salons in West Hollywood, where I got expensive cuts that were inconsistent, I went on the recommendation of a friend to have Robb cut my hair at Hair by Robb. And I am thrilled I did. He is really fantastic, spent a lot of time discussing what kind of cut would work for me, and recommended a product to me that actually works in controlling my frizz! ROBB is the first stylist that I've ever stuck with. I've been going to him for over 2 years now, (followed him from his previous salon) and I'm extremely picky. He can actually make your hair look longer..and gorgeous! He's not the kind of stylist that will cut too much, or do something that he feels will look bad. You'll never have a bad haircut! I've been in Heidi's hands for over 10 years and she's the best! From several Hollywood clients to little ole me, she treat's everyone like a friend. She can look at you and knows your best look just from your hair! I've got thin hair that is straight as can be, and she knows what the current look is and how it will fit with my hair. She can cut, ""up do,"" color, weave, style, etc., so well that your hair looks right the next day. It's not just the look for the day, she'll show you how to ""re do"" it! I've been a devote of Heidi for some time now and I won't let anyone else touch my hair. It's difficult for a guy to find someone who can make them look professional, current and not like they just came from basic training (like some of those discount places). If you are looking for a cut, style, or color that's up to date with the fast pace of Hollywood, Petrina is the one to go to. She's wonderful with all three! I highly recommend her for hair and can bet my own on the fact she knows what she's doing! Petrina is my hero - I went to her for the first time a couple years ago and have now followed her from two other salons (she cannot escape me! :) She took my horrible orange dye jobbed hair and created a new shade of beautiful brown I never knew I had - she gave me a gorgeous cut and color that was EXACTLY what I was asking for. I'm so used to hair stylists not understanding what I want (whether I'm not clear or they are nuts) that it was an amazing relief for her to know exactly what I was looking for - so happy!! Petrina in room #33 has been cutting my hair for 6 years. You don't know how hard it is to find a decent haircut in this town when you have mega poofy aZian hair of straightness.
