I have had bad customer service..but this tops them all! Lets start from the beginning...When I first went to Charlotte's the staff was average, the place was dirty and they told me over the phone they had something in the store..that they did not have. After months of searching for bridesmaid dresses and the clock ticking..I told my bridesmaids to order, because I feared not having them in time. After my girls had all placed their orders...I called to make sure it was being sent off. The associate that answered the phone told me they had not received measurements/money. So..what do I do?..I embarrass myself by taking the shops word and go off on my girls..when in deed they did get everything in. So when I call the shop back..they told me 'someone' forgot to enter them and that all the information was just sitting on the desk..credit card numbers and all! So..they told me they would call me back to confirm the order before sending it off. They them sent it and didn't call me to confirm. Finally,the dresses were in and we were told we needed to pick them up within 10 days. So 2 of my bridesmaids and I went. They had fitted my girls at the wrong size! What makes it even worse..is that they blamed the wrong sizes on us...even though they measured them. They were rude, snotty, unhelpful and took 20 minutes to find the dresses they had just called me about. They never once came in to ask if we needed help. So upset..we forgot to grab the bridesmaid dresses as we walked out. I went back in to grab them and they were talking garbage about us..I was furious. I informed them that they might want to wait until their customers leave the parking lot before they start talking garbage about them. I then informed them they were the most unprofessional bridal shop I have ever been to and walked out. Trust me..I will be finding out who the owner is and making a formal complaint. As if I don't have enough on my plate with planning my wedding! Pros: Parking Lot? If you can even call it that! Cons: Staff, selection, prices, location, building, EVERYTHING! more

I signed up with City Search so I could specifically write this review as I have just returned from this bridal shop. I'll spare you the typical bridal details of my experience there over the duration of my lunch break today, however I will recount the unacceptable behavior and severe lack of class that Charlotte's Wedding's and More absolutely reeks of. As I am simply a bridesmaid...and not a bride, feel confident in knowing the purpose of this review is not that of a BRIDEZILLA who is choosing to vent her frustrations regarding all of the classic and unreasonable demands not being met. Trust me, I know the type! That being said, don't waste your time with this crapshoot. There are plenty of places I could go and be treated with more respect that I was at Charlotte's Weddings....McDonalds, is a good example. Heck, the lady working the graveyard shift on the drive through window has better customer services than the larger blonde associate at that shop. In fact, she was even advised that it is typically better to wait until her customers leave the building before she starts talking garbage about them. Aside from the neglectful, rude, unprofessional low class associates and service, the store filthy, out of date, and a complete fire hazard. The shitmobile has arrived folks....congratulations Charlotte's Weddings and More....you win the prize of being the biggest piece of garbage bridal shop that I have been to in the last 5 year. In my humble opinion a trip to David's Bridal on a busy Holiday weekend with a sales associate that doesn't speak English would be more enjoyable. My fiance and I set a date for our wedding with not much time to plan, but it only took one visit to Charlotte's Weddings with one of my bridesmaids, and we had all of our dresses picked out. We loved the private room and the fact that the staff picked out dresses based on our taste for us to try, avoiding the overwhelm of racks of gowns. The second dress I tried on was the exact one I had found on-line and brought in a picture of. It usually takes 4 months to have it made, but the staff were able to find one in my size in a domestic warehouse and had it to me in a month. They also offered impeccable service while juggling calls with our measurements, delivery requests, and down payments. I also went with one of their recommended seamstresses, and ended up with a dress some of my wedding guests said was the most beautiful they had ever seen. I have been to almost 10 different bridal boutiques and Charlotte's was my absolute favorite! When I went in for the first time, I had two amazing consultants helping me. The experience is one I had not had during my prior outings to find 'the dress'. The consultants sit down and ask you to describe your dream gown and then they bring in the most amazing dresses for you! You don't have to get overwhelmed with the endless dress racks. I think it was probably the 3rd or 4th dress they brought to me that was ""the one""! I went back about two weeks later with my family in tow to show them and order it--- we couldn't have had a better experience! Also, they offer some really good perks to buying your dress through them! I can't wait to have my dress! Pros: the consultants, the selection, the helpfulness! Cons: parking... it can get full on the weekends! more

I got my dress from here and had no complications... Everything came on time and look GREAT!!! I LOVE MY DRESS!! This was the cheapest place that I looked! The sales people there were EXCELLENT!!!! The first time I went here I didn't have an appointment but they were so nice about it, they let me look at all the dresses!!! They just remodeled the whole place and it looks great! All I have to say is give them a try and see for yourself, they don't push you to make a sale or anything like that! Yes all the people you bring are in the room with you when you get into the gowns but you can ask them to wait outside or what I did was all my bridesmaid went to look for dresses for me while the bridal consultant got the ones that she thought I would like, which she did a great job of!!! They don't have a problem with you picking out your own dresses that you like. Pros: EVERYTHING!!!! Cons: NOTHING... just look for ways to be comfortable, remember its YOUR day!! more

i was looking on portland city search to look at reviews for charlottes wedding. the last review posted really surprised me after all the amazing things i have heard about them, so it made me really curious to check it out for myself. i called and made my appointment and just by that i could tell that the last review couldnt be true. the lady on the other end made me feel so welcome and got me really excited for my visit. today i had my first appointment and i was nothing short of amazed. they had a huge amount of dresses, they let me dress down before my family came in to join me and i was able to try on every dress i wanted to several times. by the end of my first appointment i had ordered my dress and made a friend in my consultant! it was great! the offer great discounts once you order your dress! great service, great prices, and amazing dresses. totally stress free and i really felt they were totally catering to me. now i am convinced the bad reviews must be from competing stores, if you are looking for a dress, stop by charlottes they are exceptional. Pros: great people, great dresses, you really feel comfortable, great location and service, price match Cons: the store looks a little out dated, but who really cares. more

With a small budget, wedding dress shopping didn't appeal to me. I dreaded it, not knowing what prices would be or if the staff would be snooty, or whether I'd have to settle for a mediocre David's Bridal dress like every other girl. With their friendly, helpful staff and huge private dressing rooms, Charlotte's made the experience very enjoyable for my mom and me. Nicole helped us and was wonderful. She found me so many pretty, unique dresses. Not many I liked were in my ideal price range, but a couple came close enough--and they were far better (both in quality and fashion) than almost every other place I had been. I had one picked out that I thought I'd probably get. I didn't end up getting it because I found one that I liked so much better (you know, the one that spoke for itself!) elsewhere. However, if I had found ""the dress"" there, it would definitely have been worth the extra couple hundred! Pros: Great staff, good selection, huge private dressing rooms Cons: Can't browse dresses! Charlotte's is the only place I went to look for a wedding dress/veil and that was all I needed!! Their staff was so accomodating, very flexible and great contacts for alterations. They were very realistic in terms of their time estimates for getting orders in and everything was in on time as expected! Everyone I ever worked with or spoke to on the phone was so nice and friendly! Nothing but great experiences!!! Pros: Friendly staff considering that working with bridezillas must be a nightmare!! :) Cons: none!! more

I went to Charloette's with my friend to buy her wedding dress, and she had such a good experience that I went back for mine! I went on a Saturday and still received great service. Stephanie, as others have said, is great! She definetly enjoys her job, which makes shopping a lot more fun. Plus, I am a difficult girl to fit, since I am tall and plus sized, but the selection made it easy for me to find several dresses that I loved. Then I found the one! I'm very pleased with the service I received and will recommend it to anyone! Pros: private room, friendly staff, low stress shopping experience, no pressure Cons: not a lot of room in front of store where bridesmaid dresses are more

I have to say that I went to Charlotte's with high expectations and was not let down! Friends and acquaintances all recommended the shop and it was the first place I went to shop for dresses. When I got there I immediately felt at home the place just feels so comfortable. My two friends and I were escorted to our spacious dressing room that felt like a plush bedroom (it was easy to feel comfortable, even with just the undergarments on). The assistant Stephanie, listen carefully to my ideas, asked enough questions to get a feel for the dresses I liked, and brought back a handful that were all wonderful. By the 3rd dress I knew I had found the ONE. It was beautiful and even Stephanie was excited. What a wonderful experience! I went on a weekday so I can't say what it's like on the weekends, but so far my experience has been nothing short of amazing! Pros: Small but great selection, good value, excellent service Cons: Not a lot of space to move around in more

I didn't like my experience at Charlotte's. I didn't like that I wasn't allowed to look at the dresses. I didn't like that my ""consultant"" took down and idea of what I would like and wouldn't like and brought me her vision of what I would like. I would have prefered to pick out my own dress instead of trying on dresses I would never have picked out. I didn't like that my dressing room wasn't separate from the viewing area (I went with my soon to be sister-in-law and wasn't ready for her to see me as up-close-and-personal as she did while I was trying on my dresses). I didn't like that I couldn't take any pictures of any dresses there -- even if I was trying them on. The whole experience creeped me out and left me with a bad vibe. more

The associates at Charlottes although some better than others were very helpful in getting me the wedding dress I loved on time and without hassle. They were very accomodating and friendly. The dresses are all very well priced and I was completely satisfied with my order. The only drawback is that I saw 5 different sales associates when I was in for different times trying on my dress. At a smaller store you have better service that way, but overall I think this is the best place in Portland to find the dress of your dreams at a cost that cannot be beat! more

I really don't know how this company is still in business with the horrible service they provide. But with how many complaints I have seen and what I had to go through myself, it won't be much longer. When I decided to go to Charlotte's for my bridesmaid dresses, they couldn't stop with the promises. Interesting, because when I hadn't received the phone call that my dresses were in when I was supposed to, I called them, turns out - they had FORGOTTEN TO ORDER THEM!!! Their response to this was ""Gee - it's a good thing you called"". I called? Shouldn't someone there stay on top of this stuff? As a result, the dresses came in SIX WEEKS LATE, resulting in a very frantic bride (me) and very upset bridesmaids. Charlotte's accepted no responsibility and placed the blame on everyone and everything but themselves. On top of this, when they finally did come in, they didn't even bother to call - I had to call them to follow up only to be told ""Oh - they have been in for a few days now - no one called you?"". As if we had this time to waste. Alterations costs doubled because everything had to be rushed. And finally, the dresses were severly wrinkled when we picked them up - they couldn't even give them to us in wearable condition. Through this entire process - I didn't get one sorry. It was all no big deal to them. As a business, they have failed in my book. I should have listened to the warnings - but I didn't. So now I am warning you - unless you like stress and being treated like your business isn't important to them, I would stay far far away from this place, or else you will be VERY UNHAPPY. My wedding planner has even pulled them from her book and warns brides to stay away because she has had nothing but problems with them as well. This is a true case of: Listen to the warnings!!!! Where do I start. They will try to add fees to your gowns cost any way they can. They forgot to order the bridesmaids dresses and didn't inform me until ONE MONTH later! The dress were the wrong color when they came in, and each bridesmaids dress was 2-3 sizes too big. When issues were address there we're always more excuses than apologies to be made. At the end of you countless phone calls you will be drained and forgetting what all of this is about... GETTING MARRIED! Please find somewhere else for you gown, you want it to be a happy time not time spent arguing on the phone and crying! more

problems we ran into: Odered one of the bridesmaid dresses 3sizes smaller, all 4 the dresses ordered came back the wrong color, 2 different wedding dates neither one of them being the right one, oness ordered with cups in the breast area which were ordered with none, no reall compensation for any of this and we never got any sorries, there were a lot of new sales people in the time of going there. They started our professional and very nice, then turned into it really was not their problem it was ours to deal with, they even advised to have the beading redone on the wedding dress to match the wrong color bridesmaids dresses with only 6 wks before the wedding, and with the colors being wrong we had to redo everything that was already planned. more

I ordered my wedding dress from Charlottes, and they give your bridesmaids 10% off if you decide to order their dresses at Charlottes also. DON'T DO THIS!!! I did and my wedding dress came fast and looked beautiful but the bridesmaid dresses didn't arrive until two weeks before my wedding (two weeks after they were supposed to arrive). Now, I understand that stuff happens and it is hard to count on suppliers but I really feel like they gave me the run-around and I don't know about you, but I don't like to have my intelligence insulted. Also, don't fall for the ""rush charge"" it is $30 and the dresses don't come any faster - think about it - have you ever paid FedEx that much to rush something that ways a few ounces? Good luck girls - hope you have a better experience than me! more

I went to Charlotte's my first time trying on dresses. I came armed with pictures from bridal magazines of styles I liked in theory. My consultant was AMAZING at bringing dresses that were similar to the styles I liked and in very considerate of my price range. I had no idea of what I liked and by the time I left I felt comfortable with my experience. I went to other stores after Charlotte's to check out other selections and was extremely disappointed by the service. Through these experiences, I determined that I would definitely purchase my dress from Charlotte's. I went back and purchased a dress that I found elsewhere because I was so impressed with the service I received at Charlotte's! They are excellent! I spent over six months looking for the perfect gown and finally ended up at Charlotte's. After experiencing so many rude and unprofessional bridal stores in the Metro area, I was a little hesistant to try this one out. However Christina, my consultant, was absolutely wonderful! She was so patient with me while I tried on half the stores dresses and after my third appointment with her, I finally found my dream dress. She also helped me pick out a veil and shoes. Don't waste your time anywhere else, Charlotte's is the place to go!! Pros: big dressing rooms, private, very helpful more

This shop really knows how to treat brides and their families. I had a great consultant. She was lots of fun and understood what I was looking for. We even had our own little room. The selection was really good and the pricing was better than expected. I loved the attention and suggestions. Mandy was a great help. I would really put this shop on your list.
