Good: We have gone there half a dozen times in the last 4-6 months. We very much enjoyed the food, comfortable food with a twist-like duck quesadillas. We love the view. The windows are beautiful, the space is light. It is very undinerlike; I was very surprised reading someone suggesting that . The food is more upscale than a typical diner also. Breakfasts excellent. We have always had at least good service, actually only once where it was more average than good to great.. Bad: As good as the duck quesadillas were, they needed more color or green on the plate, some more in the quesadilla, and I mentioned that I would have preferred that to the hostess. She was more than willing to pass on my thoughts to the chef. However, it tasted very good. It can get very busy, so we try to go when it is a little less busy.. Improvements: More unusual options on the lunch menu-there are some, but it would be nice for people who like a lot of variety-might get me to come in even more!. Other: Nice picnic spot right by the river across the street, but they do not serve there, you have to take a carryout bag. The view is great!. more

We have had breakfast and lunch there, and really enjoyed them both. A duck quesadilla was delicious, great Reuban, sweet potato fries crisp and hot, omelets with fried potatoes with peppers and onions. yum. Some interesting choices, some old favorites. Clean and friendly. Have to get carryout if you want to sit by the river at the picnic tables. It is actually across the street, but not hard to cross. more

The next time you are in Yardley, PA stop by and check out this family restaurant for some great local dining. Situated by the Delaware River, just out the window is a beautiful scenic view that compliments your meal nicely. In addition to the dining room, there are picinic tables right by the river on which you can dine. (No waitress service there though.) The menu provides a good variety of choices and portion sizes. I highly recommend both the turkey croquettes and Charcoal's own crabcakes. There are specials breakfast & dinner specials every day as well as lunch specials on weekdays. The wait staff was courteous and friendly. The decor was very welcoming and home-like. In addition to tables, there is a diner like bar where you can eat...nice to eat at if you are alone but don't want to sit at a table by yourself. The building is a little small, so you may have to wait a bit if you have a large party. more
