Chan's Egg Rolls and Jazz

Went to Chans for the first time since it was highly recommended. We waited 15 minutes for the waitress and she never came to the table. I finally had to ask for a waitress and then one came over. We choose the buffet instead of something from the menu. The buffet cost $12.00 and I found the food not that good. The egg rolls were cold and tasted awful. more

If you enjoy Chineses dining, do not go to Chan's in Woonsocket. The night I went with my girlfriend, the person greeting was very rude (first sign of a poor dining experience). After we were seated, it took 15 minutes for our waitress to come to our table. This was especially bad due to only eight other occupied tables. It took an hour to get our meals, mine which was ordered wrong (I'm a vegetarian...I ordered a tofu vegetable dish and instead I got a sweet and sour chicken meal). The waitress was not plesant when asked to return my meal. Both meal selections were bland, cold, and dried out....it seemed that some of the food was kept over a heating lamp that, well, did not heat. From the moment we entered to the moment we left, it was a poor dining experience. I would recommend going to the Asia Grille in the Lincoln Mall (RI) or Shanghai on Thayer St. in Providence (RI). Chan's is quite possibly the worst restaurant I have ever dined at. I went to Chans because it's New Years Eve and The Asia Grille stopped taking orders at 5pm. Now it's $75 later and I wish I would have waited the 3 hours the Asia told me I would have to in order to place an order. Chans sucked so bad I threw everything out. The rice was dry and tasted like mildew. The beef terriyake tasted off, and the fried stuff was really greasy. I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy, if I had one. Don't waste your hard earned cash on this garbage. Take the extra time and go to the Asia Grille in the Lincoln Mall plaza. You'll get MUCH better food and it's totally worth the extra trip. Pros: drive up pick up window Cons: everything else. I've never be visiting that drive through window again. more
