I am a local business owner and my 10/20/2011

I am a local business owner and my whole family utilizes Changez Salon...my three children just LOVE it! Changez salon gives back to the community like no other business in the Royal Oak area. My elderly mother was diagnosed with cancer and Beaumont gave us Changez"" name for her to have a free consultation. Jason, the stylist and co-owner was so kind and caring. He fitted her a wig and gave her a knitted hat that he had knitted himself. She passed away earlier this year, but I will always be a faithful client of this salon for the gracious way in which they acted toward my mother and the way they actively support Gilda's club and other charitable organizations! more

Luckily I received a letter from Heather stating that she was now @ Tease in Clawson. As soon as my hair grows out I will be seeing her there. I advise anyone thinking about stepping foot in Changez to think twice. more

Horrible 4/6/2011

I had my hair cut here at he didn't do anything I asked for. My hair is too short and I showed him what I wanted for a cut. He told me he knew what to do. Ugh, I guess I didn't see him put the blind fold on. What a mess. Now I get to grow it out. more

Great Experience Every Time at Changez 3/27/2011

Every month I look forward to my appointment at Changez. I leave with a great haircut, outstanding color and feel uplifted. The staff are all so helpful, kind and talented. Jason is my stylist and he really is a joy. I have also had really good experiences with the other stylists as well. Both owners at Changez are committed to the community and always doing something to support local charities. This is the kind of local business I want to support. You are all great! more

Love this Salon 1/9/2011

I have been going to Changez Salon for 10 years and I love it. the staff is very welcoming. The salon has a very comfortable warm feeling and the stylist are wonderful. I have had every person here style my hair and it has always looked great. They fit you in when you have time to get your hair done. Jason the salon owner is a very caring compassionate person. He knows COLOR, and you feel like a new person when you walk out of this salon.\r THANKS Changez more

Questionable at best, never will return! 12/1/2010

Tried this salon recently and while I was there the owner was complaining about negative reviews about him and the staff and was offering discounts for positive reviews and asking the staff to place positive reviews to negate the negative publicity they have been receiving lately. After hearing this I would not trust a single positive review for this salon anywhere, even if it were from my mom. more

This is the best salon I've ever been too. The staff is friendly, the service is fantastic and the quality of the hair cuts I've received are outstanding. I can't recommend this salon more. more

My favorite place! 9/28/2010

I love this salon! I've been going to this salon since 2000. Changez is a very relaxing and friendly place. I always feel at home when I'm there. Jason always has wonderful ideas for my hair. I have very thick, coarse hair and Jason cuts my hair perfectly. I had him style my hair for my Wedding and it was beautiful. My mom also goes to Changez and has Heather style her hair. We always leave loving our hair. Great experience! You won't be disappointed! more

I'll never go anywhere else 9/20/2010

I've been going to Jason for several years and I will never go anywhere else. I pass countless other salons on my drive to Changez in Royal Oak from my home in Shelby Township, but it is more than worth the drive. You will have a great experience at Changez. Jason always give me a great style and his color work is amazing. I am getting married next month and I would not trust my hair to anyone else on that important day! more

Always a great experience! 9/20/2010

I love going to this salon and have for several years! The owners, Jason and Stephen are professional and friendly. They keep their staff educated on new techniques and current trends. I always look forward to my appointments and walk in feeling like I'm friends with everyone. Not only are the staff talented, they help provide a youthful and fun atmosphere. Jason has been my stylist for a while now, he is amazing with color and I always trust I'm going to leave looking fantastic. I change my color all the time and he is very accommodating. I feel being able to change it up is the mark of a great stylist. I've also gone to Jennifer and have friends who use her as well. She is wonderful, talented and upbeat. I have recommended this salon to friends and family in the past and will continue to do so in the future. more

frustrated 8/17/2010

I've been to this salon a few times. Only once was I impressed! I saw a stylist there a few times and when I called to make an appointment with her I was told she was no longer there and they couldn't give me any info about where she went. I took an appt with another stylist she was ok. Called back to make another appt. and she had left too, so I thought I would try one more time. My mistake! It was awful! The stylist they gave me did not know what she was doing. I think she was more fascinated with the way she looked. She couldn't take her eyes off of herself in the mirror. I just want to know where my original stylist went. Unfortunately I can't remember her name. I was treated very rudely when I tried to find out again. They no longer have my business! more

worst salon ever! 7/10/2010

When I came in to the salon, there was a bald man at the desk yelling at his employees in a very demeaning manor. Loud enough for everyone in the waiting area to hear. I was referred to Jason by a friend. I may not be talking to her for a very long time. I explained what I wanted and he gave me some ideas ""he"" thought were helpful. All the while trying to talk me out of what I wanted. He then proceeded to do exactly what he wanted, NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR. Not too mention he is highly inappropriate. ie. his all too personal conversation with me. My hair was choppy, uneven and looked awful. I haven't been able to do anything with it. I am convinced my 5 year old could have done a better job. I will never go ever, ever step foot in that awful place again. DO NOT RECOMMEND TRYING THIS SALON!!! nice people.....needs work 5/13/2010

when i got there people were really nice, two people at the register greeted me and were really happy. but, i had to wait for beth to do my hair past the time i was supposed to be at and she kept me late.... didnt expect my hair cut to take 1hr15m. while waiting a man at the desk who i think is the boss was like criticizing a worker in a normal loudness and he was swearing and i thought that was weird. then i heard him talking about how late beth was going and it made me feel awkward. the male stylist in the front says inappropriate things to his people and i was also awkward because of that. hair cut wasnt great and some of the people were nice but i felt awkward and i dont think im going back. i hope i just went on a bad day and i hope no one else has that experience Pros: friendly faces. nice on the inside. lots of products Cons: some inprofessionalness. had to wait. took to long. more

Great stylist, prices and environment 4/14/2010

I've been going to see Jason at this salon for about 7 years now (when I was 16, I'm now 23) and couldn't be happier. Prior to learning about Changez I was constantly trying to salons and stylists and was never happy with the cut and price. With Jason I can sit down, give him a vague idea of what I like and before I know it I have exactly the cut I wanted without being able to explain it. My grandma, mom and sister have all gone to him with the same results. We've even talked my dad into going to see Heather (my mom had been cutting his hair) and he loves it too. I always get compliments on my hair and I pay about half the price of what my friends pay. I would recommend Changez absolutely to anyone. more

Hair Salon worth visiting 3/1/2010

I have recently revisited Changez Salon once again. I must say there have been some significant changes over time.\r \r I was aquainted with AJ who was awsome. She is extremely knowledgeable about the Merle Norman products. My skin has never felt so good nor has it looked this good in years.\r \r I was pleased to see a friendly old face. Donna, who had previously done my hair once again did my hair on this visit. She did a great job on my hair, just as I knew she would. Her personality has not changed over time. She has maintained her professionalism through the various changes in ownership. She has been a fixture at Changez for as long as I can recall.\r \r I would recommend Changez Salon and Donna to my friends, and I have. \r \r I have decided to return to Changez Salon and Donna my stylist of choice.\r Pros: Friendly, and knoweldgeable staff more

great cut, great stylist 2/25/2010

Upon walking into Changez, I was met with several genuine smiling faces. Everyone was so friendly and I was immediately seated with my stylist, Jason. Jason was so thorough in explaining what he was going to do with my hair and what it would do for my face. He was extremely complimentary too, which doesnt hurt ;) The conversation flowed, and the hair flew off, and in no time at all I left the salon with a haircut that i love, an explanation of how to work with it for everyday wear, and a great warm feeling inside. Myself and my friends have been going to Changez salon for twenty some years now. Donna is my personal stylist and i can't say enough about her and her professionalism. I always look forward to my day at Changez salon. Keep up the good work, my best to all of you in the new year. Pros: Great group of people. Cons: sometimes it snows. more

GREAT SALON 2/10/2010

Everyone in the salon is very friendly and willing to go the extra mile. Jason is a god when it comes to cutting, styling and offering suggestions about your hair. He actually listens to what YOU want done. I have also had manicures, pedicures and facials done. What a great experience! It makes you feel like a queen for a day. The Worst experience ever!!! 12/15/2009

I will never go to this salon again!! Donna the stylist that did my hair was awful! She didn't even finish my hair, someone else had to fix it. Her excuse for not fixing it was that she had other clients that she had to do. She was unprofessional and apparently doesn't know what a haircut means. Also, my daughter went to this salon for an eyebrow wax and she barely even waxed anything but still charged her full price. I've been to this salon before and the girl that did my hair was awesome! Too bad she left this salon. Also, people that I talk to have gone to this salon before and request their favorite stylist but apparently they have left this salon to work somewhere else. That must tell us something right there. more

AWFUL!!! 8/16/2009

PATRICK IS THE WORST STYLIST I have ever had the displeasure allowing to cut my hair. Not only was my hair cut uneven, chopped up but he literally cut holes on the sides to the point my new, and great stylist, had to cut my hair shorter to try and repair all his damage.. Needless to say this was very upsetting and all of this after no one but TWO consultations with Patrick regarding what I wanted...DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON!!! Pros: Local Cons: Patrick more
