Absolutely the Best !!!! Fabulous Service !!!! 6/15/2011

This company is one of the finest I have encountered in any business. They are knowledgeble, honest, caring, compassionate and trustworthy professionals. Chambliss replaced all the copper piping in my 2 story home. This was a major project that involved running pex piping to all sinks, tubs, faucets, washing machine, outdoor hoses, etc. As a widow, I am very cautious about which contractors I will allow in my house and am concerned about being taking advantage of. Kevin ( the owner) came to my house and immediately put me at ease. He outlined what the job entailed and how long it would take. The project would require that over 40 holes be cut in my walls, would take about 3 weeks and recommended that if i could vacate for that time, it would be the best. When I explained that it was not an option for me to move out, they were able to do a work around so that I was never without a working bathroom, only had 1 day with no kitchen sink and only 1 day with no washing machine. Of course, your situation might vary so that might not be an option. Every care was taken to protect my belongings. Chambliss covererd my floor with protective cardboard and my furniture with tarps to protect from the dust that cutting over 40 holes in sheetrock creates. They vacuumed and cleaned the job site everyday. They were also able to recommend other contractors to repair the holes, do tile work and electrical work. Go to Chambliss' website and see the referals section. All of them are as fabulous as Chambliss is. Whatever you plumbing needs are, you won't find a better company to serve you. more

Water Heater Experts 5/24/2011

Chambliss Plumbing converted our regular water heater to an external mount Rennai tankless water heater. Now we have unlimited hot water and more space in our home. Job was done on time, on budget and workmanship was professional. I would definitely recommend them to my friends. more

Easy To Work With and Affordable 8/20/2009

I called and scheduled an appointment to repair my hot water heater. I was given a rough estimate over the phone, and the final price ended up being almost exactly what they quoted. Very friendly and professional plumber who gave me advice to replace the water heater instead of just repair it, which saved me money in the long run. I would definitely recommend this plumber to any of my family and friends! Pros: Scheduled an appointment within two days. Cons: Too little to mention more

Overpriced plumbing in San Antonio: Chambliss 12/17/2008

They performed an average quality sewage plumbing job for us. The problem was that the job was quoted high, leading me to believe they were going to do more than they did. I calculated the charge for what was a relatively simple job in PVC tubing that needed little digging (pipe either on surface, or when trenched, only 1 1/2 ft deep maximum, often less. Their labor portion for putting in the 108 feet of PVC (60 of 4", 48 of 2") was $36 per foot, extraordinary in my opinion. Materials, diagnostics, rootering, etc were all separate other charges. I wrote them a letter at the close of the job asking the owner (who was never at the job site) to review the cost. A week went by and the owner's spouse called to collect the balance owed on the work. I asked about the letter and whether the owner had a response. She claimed they did not get it. I faxed a copy along with a summary cover letter, but not before I got a belligerent, aggressive call from the main plumber that had been on site. He had quoted the job and it was so high in retrospect. I eventually talked to the owner. He defended the job charge, saying that that was what it cost and that he had plenty of business, much of it from word of mouth. My letter and conversation were carefully worded to simply ask for a cost review to make sure there wasn't an overcharge. Despite this, the owner and his wife were defensive and wife implied I was out of line to do this. She asked my profession (I am a math teacher) and then said it was all well and good "to put fancy words on paper" but that I owed the balance and that I needed to pay it. And that was still before I had the simple favor of a response to my question from the owner. So...there you have my experience with Chambliss Plumbing. Pros: Where there in a timely manner for the emergency. Final repair work did the job. Cons: Had impression job was to be more comprehensive than was for the dollar. Very high price. Also paid for some work and materials twice because initial stop-gap actions were used in the final work. more
