My real estate agent hasn't bothered to try and sell my house, which is his job. Pretty much, I think he's just interested in "eventually" getting his cut. Unfortunately, being a newbie at this, I signed into a contract thing so that I HAVE to sell with him, even if it takes a year. I really wish he would try and push that its a good house for the price and neighborhood, but he really doesn't care. more

My parents hired a real estate agent to sell our home. Now keep in mind that I am no real estate agent & probably do have no idea how much work it really takes, but our real estate agent doesn't even seem to be trying. I told my parents (only half-jokingly) that we should've hired a money-hungry agent who would want the house to sell as quick as possible so he could get his cut as quick as possible. Instead we were stuck with an older man, while being very nice...just isn't the best at selling houses. So our home is still on the market, in a neighborhood surrounding an elementary school, newly sided, redone kitchen, huge backyard and I think pretty much the only work he has done is put a sign in our yard. So please, if you are considering this real estate agency, consider this - they are letting some of their agents get away with some real sloppy work. Is that really what you're looking for? more
