Wish My Doctor was as Good as My Cats'! 11/11/2011

They are attentive to your feline(s) emotional state, psychological welfare, and any possibilities that may be affecting your cat(s) health. They are thorough, clear, and caring. Cat Care professionals also has speedy notification of test results, and a wonderful followup system. This is a crew that cares about your cats the way they care about their own. They are always a call or email away for the concerned pet parent. If you have to travel a bit to see them do it! It'll be well worth the gas money to put your cats in such experienced and caring hands. more

If you love your cat, Cat Care Professionals is for you 6/13/2011

We have a 17 year old family member who is a cat named Phil. When we moved to Portland 5 years ago it was important to get the best veterinarian care for him. Our first try was a disaster (a "close to our house" vet). We then contacted our previous vet in Bend and they referred us to Cat Care Professionals. We have been so pleased and grateful to both of the wonderful veterinarians and their wonderful staff. When we first took Phil in a few years ago, we were going to get his teeth checked. During the exam, they begin to suspect he had a hyperthyroid problem, test were run and he was VERY hyperthyroid. We had no idea he had this condition. If it had not been caught by the veterinarian, I hate to think of the outcome. Over the last couple of years, managing the thyroid problem, teeth problems and kidney problems that seem to be common in aging cat's, have been managed so wonderfully and professionally by Cat Care Professionals. Phil means so much to us, and his quality of life while he ages is important to us. Cat Care Professionals have been our partners. I hardly ever write reviews, but I know there are a lot of cat owner's who love their cat like we love Phil. It is so important to find the best veterinarian's to entrust your cat's well being to. You will not be disappointed. And if you have to drive a bit to get there, do it. Believe me, it is worth it!! You will love everyone there - both from a Professional point of view and because they are all kind and caring people looking out for you and your cat's best interests. Enjoy your wonderful cat(s)!! They deserve the best. more

My girl's best friends (and lifesavers)! 12/21/2010

These professionals are the best. I've taken my cats there for years for their annual physicals for years....but recently they became lifesavers. My purebred Chartreaux, Mazel Tov, recently had the misfortune to experience lipidosis after an automatic feeder failed while we were away (did you know that fat cats can go into lipidosis - liver disease - in as little as 24 hours without food? I didn't!). Because of their insistence that I bring her in immediately when I discovered the failure, she is alive, fat as ever and purring away today. They are experts with felines and more importantly -- they truly care about their patients and their pet parents. more

An AMAZING Vet!! :) 11/23/2010

Cat Care Professionals is an exceptional place! After spending nearly $1000 on a different animal hospital (unsuccessfully) trying to diagnose the cause of my cat's upset tummy - all while unemployed, I did my homework and was so lucky to have found Cat Care Professionals. The doctor not only ran the correct tests to diagnose him with a food allergy, but they also helped me work out a plan to pay my vet bill. The technicians are helpful and patient, and the doctors have no problem personally contacting me, which is great. The staff always remembers my name and my cat's names, and their friendliness and professionalism makes me I feel that the answers to any of my questions are just a phone call away. I would recommend them to anyone! more

Top of the line care for your cats and you! 8/31/2010

I was a new cat mom when I adopted my cat two years ago. I didn't know a lot about cats but I learned from books and online. After a couple of "interesting" experiences at other vets I found Cat Care Professionals. They are terrific. The office is well run and the doctors and cat nurses are very experienced and helpful. They were happy to answer my newbie questions. My cat is very healthy now and just goes in for checkups, but I will certainly take her in if she has any issues in the future. more

The best vet in oregon!!! 2/21/2010

Cat care professionals, next door to little gym, is a terrific vet for cats. I highly recommend them. My cat was diagnosed with diabetes a year ago. They really have a passion for their cat customers and work hard at making sure they have quality healthcare. The other great advantage of cat care professionals is the boarding facility next door. They only board cats. Its affordable and clean. Its very quiet for the cats (causes less stress). Most boarding facilities have dogs too. Its extremely noisy with barking that cats get stressed out! Hope this information is helpful for anyone looking for a cat vet and boarding facility. Pros: Cats only club! No dogs allowed! Cons: No cons from me. They are the best! more

Best Feline Vets in Portland 12/17/2009

Both veterinarians are feline specialists, unlike many vets who seem to cater more to dogs. They provide personalized attention and do diligent follow-ups. I especially appreciate their emphasis on preventative care. For my plumpsters, they create weight loss plans and free regular weight checks. But they've also helped me make hard decisions about my cats with failing health. Dr. Cornwell is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Dr. Ellingsen currently heads the board of the Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon. They are truly dedicated to cat care! Pros: Feline specialists, personalized care, B&B available Cons: None more

Fanatical About Felines! 7/22/2008

We have been rescuing and taking car of cats for over 25 years. We always use Cat Care Professionals for our Veterinarian and their great B&B Boarding facility. They consistently go above and beyond to help us with whatever they can. I have never been more comfortable leaving my "children" in someone else's care. The genuine love and experience shows. I recommend them to anyone who loves their animals as much as we do! Please help homeless cats in your neighborhood and consider adoption today! Thanks Again Dr. Cornwell and Staff at Cat Care for all your hard work and expertise!!! Steve and Judy Portland Cat Rescue Pros: Friendly Expert Staff, Clean Facility, Good Value Cons: Reservations for Boarding go FAST! Call Ahead Early. more

****TOP OF THE LINE CAT BOARDING**** 2/28/2008

I recently boarded my cat Jackson at Cat Care B&B, and I was very impressed. The staff was very polite and knowledgeable, and they really seemed to care about the cats. They have a vet clinic next door, which makes it easy for them to provide extra care if need be. Jackson is diabetic, which means he needs injections daily and Cat Care B&B was able to give those injections for him during his stay. When I came to pick Jackson up, he seemed calm and happy. During my checkout, they went over everything they had fed him, if there was any fluctuation in his weight, when and how much medication was given, even recorded his daily litterbox usage!! I will definitely use Cat Care B&B again, and encourage anyone who needs to board their cat to use them! Pros: Trained technicians available, personal attention to your pets more

Don't Bother 12/24/2007

They changed their hours during the holidays and didn't bother to notify the owners of the animals. My cat went without care this holiday and I am going to worry about her each day as she doesn't do well alone. I think that the staff could have been honest when I made the reservation, I asked about the hours twice and wrote them down. The people inside wouldn't even come to the door and tell me that they were not allowed to take in animals. I would definitely think twice about the people who are minding the pets. I have to mention that I stayed with them twice before and they seemed really together, but now watching them behind the scenes, I wouldn't trust that they do as they say. Pros: Part of a vet hospital when open Cons: Poor care of animals after hours more

Cat Care Unprofessionals 12/24/2007

We made a reservation here for our cat for the week of Christmas. We called to verify drop off hours and were told they would be open 4-6 on Christmas Eve. We arrived shortly after 5pm and saw two people through the front window/door. They got up as we walked to the door, seemingly stowing cats so they wouldn't get out the door. But then we noticed a sign saying they were closed the evening of Christmas Eve and the two people proceeded to hide from us. For one hour we stood in the cold trying to talk to the two people who hid behind furniture, crawled around on the floor and peeked out windows to see if we were there. They never acknowledged our presence during this time. Eventually one came out the door of the vet clinic saying she was "just the groomer" and nobody was next door at the B&B, but eventually acknowledging her friend was there with her. She refused to admit that she was crawling on the floor despite my being able to tell her what color and style underwear she was wearing, but at the sametime refusing that a third person was there. I saw two people crawling around and if she wasn't, then there must have been three. Either way, lies! This is the absolute height of unprofessional behavior. We could have made the earlier hours but were specifically told they would be open so we chose to keep our cat at home as long as possible. To not acknowledge us and say through the closed door that they were closed and could not recieve the cat was silly. To crawl around and hide for an hour then lie to our faces is ludicrous. This business will not see our business in the future and this review (and pictures of the people hiding) will be posted far and wide on the web. Absolutely disgraceful! Pros: location Cons: horrendous staff more

Wouldn't take my cats anywhere else! 4/24/2007

This place is great! Cats only so no loud barking dogs and it smells good too. Very clean. Staff is warm and friendly. Doctors really take the time to explain everything and give options. I've been to those places where it's 'Do all this expensive work or we can't help your cat.' It's not like that at Cat Care Professionals. They work with me as a team to give my cat the best care, I believe. more

They loved my cat like I love my cat! 3/27/2007

I've brought my kitty to Cat Care Professionals since I got her in 2003. They are so gentle with her, and so loving. The office staff always tells her she's pretty, and Dr. Cornwell is very cognizant of any kitty anxiety or shyness. If you want a vet that will genuinely care about your cat...like you care about your cat...this is the place. more

  • How did we become Oregon?s top cat clinic? It?s simple?at Cat Care Professionals, we?re committed to promoting the health, happiness, and quality of life for each of the felines we treat. We offer our clients the best of both worlds: the resources and expertise of a large veterinary hospital and the personalized attention of a smaller clinic.

When you visit Cat Care Professionals, you and your cat will benefit from our biggest strengths:

    * Low Stress Environment: In a traditional veterinary setting, cats are treated in the same facility as dogs, exposing them to the sounds and smells of a natural predator. This can trigger intense fear and anxiety in your pet. Our comfortable, stress-free setting is devoted exclusively to cat care, so your pet will never be placed in a threatening or scary situation. We've also found that examinations and treatments are much more effective in this type of stress-free environment.
    * Experience: You can provide your cat with the unique skills and experience of a feline-only doctor. With 40 years combined experience caring for cats, our veterinarians have an in-depth knowledge of the nuances of feline health. We engage in continuous education and training to stay on top of the latest veterinary techniques and technologies.
    * Value: In our struggling economy, we understand the importance of affordable veterinary services. Our rates are competitive, and we?ll work with you to set up a flexible payment schedule to accommodate your budget.
    * Total Care: From basic check-ups to surgical procedures to dental treatments, we follow a holistic approach to treating your cat. We tailor all services to the unique needs of your pet, based on pre-existing conditions, breed, age, and lifestyle

The difference in my cat's reaction to your clinic versus our previous vet was shocking... he was so much more relaxed, receptive and responsive in your clean cat-only environment. I can't imagine taking him to a different vet now. G.C.
    You
