CarX held my car ransom! I went to CarX to get my brake pads changed. After receiving my quote, I told the owner to go ahead with the job. The owner mentioned that they were pretty busy and that the job would be completed in about two to two and a half hours. Less than 5 minutes went by and I decided to hold off on the brake job and shop around for pricing.
The Owner of the franchise told me that they had already started working on my car and that he would have to charge me $85 for labor.
Upon inspecting my car, I noticed that only 1 of the calipers was removed and the other was still intact.
Now $89 was the total advertised price to replace both brake pads. I don?t understand why 1. I was charged for a service I didn?t receive and 2. I was charged for brake pads I didn?t receive. Furthermore, if I was charged for the labor of removing one caliper why was the labor cost higher for a single caliper that the labor cost of replacing both brake pads plus the costs of the brakes
