Disappointing 7/8/2010

My husband and I arrived here at 8:50 p.m. on 7/2/10; well after the dinner rush. First we asked to change tables because ours was unsteady. The waitress arrived, never stating her name, took our drink order and returned after about 5 minutes. I had a certificate for a free entree w/the purchase of another which I gave to her when our order was placed. At 9:15 we finally received our soups and although good, my my husband's chowder was barely warm but he was too hungry to send it back. Ten minutes later she returned, took our bowls and it was 9:35 before we received our meal at which time I asked for a glass of water. My salad and my husband's seafood platter were average. By this time there was only one other table in our area with patrons. She came back 10 minutes later, apologized for the delay with the water stating she had been distracted. Her distraction was a lengthy conversation with the diners at the other table. When I received the bill I noticed I had been overcharged on my soup, not by much but still over the menu price. I went to the hostess about this, because the waitress was no where to be seen, and her response was ""There must have been a price increase because the amount in the computer is correct."" I pointed out the menu price and she hurried off to find a manager. He arrived, thanked me for pointing the error out to him and refunded my money; pretty much the only positive aspect to the entire evening. I debated about the tip, knowing that to leave nothing would only give her the impression I was cheap. I left $2.30 which was less than 10% of the bill and I tip at least 20%. She still probably thought I was cheap and perhaps it should only been 30 cents to make my point. I have a feeling that because I was not paying for one entree and ordered no alcohol, she decided she wouldn't be getting much of a tip anyway and we weren't worth her time. Pros: Professional manager Cons: Poor service more

Waited an hour for a table and got bumped 5/22/2009

Called to make reservations and was told they aren't taking them (found out later they were talking them for inside but didn't say that on the phone?!?!?). Arrived at 7 p.m. to catch a sunset on the deck outside. Was told we would have a table in 20 minutes. I've been a waiter. I watched the hostess station. I watched the tables. Nice older woman (perhaps the owner) joked with us on our arrival about how nice it is that people are back out spending money and the restaurant was doing well because they actually had people waiting. I told her I was looking forward to spend my money, but I haven't had the chance yet. Later, I noticed the front end manager telling a hostess (as they were ""rewriting"" the arrival list on to a new piece of paper) that ""Danielle was here before that""... apparently shuffling the order to ""accommodate"" his memory. A couple that had been waiting before us asked the hostess when they might get a table. The hostess said, ""you're the next in line"" (I was third on the list). I walked out through the deck and said hi to a group of people just leaving their table. I remember one guy had a Tampa Bay Bucs shirt on and I have family down there and we laughed about it (I'm a Welker fan too). When I returned, I saw a different couple sitting at the freshly cleaned table. Not the next in line. Not even anybody that I have seen for the entire time we have been waiting (Perhaps Danielle). Meanwhile the sun keeps setting. So now the other couple got bumped but that meant, SO DID I. After a 1hour 20 minutes they said we were next. Thirty seconds later they told another woman that her table of three was next. If the back end of this establishment is as bad as the front end the food may be hazardous. I wouldn't know because we walked out. Pros: can't use that word to describe them Cons: with the way they shuffled my table, I felt ""conned"" more

Great Location 5/11/2009

I stopped in here after work on Friday. Fortunately there was 2 chairs a the outdoor bar still. We didnt have food but everyone around us had food that looked delicious. the bartender was very friendly. she made some suggestions to us about the infused vodka on the bar and base don her recomendation we tried one of each (pineapple and apple) and they were terrific! definetly strong so I was only able to have one. This is a great location right on the ocean with a beautiful view of boston. I would certainly go back and eat. Pros: Friendly bartenders more
