This charming old school house should be just that. The food was as bad as the bartenders mouth. Who taught these people how to cook. Wilted lettuce for a salad? There steak and cake left alot to be desired. The crab cake had very little crab and the steak, does the chef not know what med means? That does not mean cold. Even the service left me with as bad a taste in my mouth as did the food. I had to ask 3 times for my water. Now how hard is that to prepare. Mind you they were not that busy with customers just busy chatting with each other. This is not some where I would ever recommend for a nice dinner or desert considering the waitress never brought us ours, but had it on the bill. Pros: great parking Cons: THUMBS DOWN more

We had our hopes up given the previous reviews here. Alas, we were very disappointed. Although the atmosphere is cozy and the service quite good its the food, stupid!... and this food was plain awful. They attempt to put a Cajun-style spin on their menu. I don't think this chef has ever been to New Orleans. The jambalaya was nothing I had ever tasted before, a red gelatinous goop that was inedible. Cappie's is the basic mainstay restaurant of the area. A large selection of basics, and a few specials every day. The food is consistently good, and surroundings are warm and inviting - the venue is the old one room schoolhouse - stone surrounds you. The service is prompt and courteous, and unfailing. It is hard not to eat here with regularity if you are in the area - either on site or by take-out. Pros: All the basics, Good specials, Friendly more
