Very Nice BAllrooms,but like the rest of the viewer said ""they will empty it out your pocketbook"" and beilieve me they will. Not to mention they do not keep you updated you have...

Simply GORGEOUS 7/15/2011

When I first came in with my wife-to-be to get a tour of their facilities our jaws dropped to the floor. To say the least it was gorgeous. They have several rooms within their building: the Fraternity Ballroom, the Temple Ballroom, and the Silver Ballroom (and also The Grand located in a different building). We chose The Fraternity because it was most suited for our wedding, and my wife liked the theme and feel. I can't say anything but good things about the experience. The coordinator and staff were all very accommodating and professional. The elevator was another spotlight, which was very vintage and needed an operator. If you shopping around for a place to have your wedding or other event the Capitol Plaza is it. They can tailor the rooms, food, etc to all your needs at a very fair price. more

The most elegant ballroom I've seen 7/7/2011

It's like you're taking a step back in time with the Victorian theme from floor to ceiling and wall to wall. We recently had my wedding reception at the Temple Hall inside Capitol Plaza, and also had catering service. The price was the lowest we could find in town. Rosalinda coordinated the event that went very smoothly. The design set-up was catered precisely to our needs and expectations. The food was excellent with plenty of options. All the staff at the event were courteous and professional. more

Very accommodating and professional 7/28/2009

This is one of the most inexpensive places that we found and yet it was just as beautiful as any other place we looked at. We were able to get in at 9:30 in the morning the day of the wedding to get ready in a separate room from our reception and ceremony and they did not charge us. They had set up mirrors, chairs and tables for makeup and food just to accommodate our needs without us even asking. We were also able to get in the day before to do set up of the reception room which no other place we've found would let us do. Pros: Flexible hours, beautiful rooms more

I had a BLAST! 6/13/2009

I've read the other reviews and believe me that was not my experience. Starting with the food... it was DELICIOUS! Like nothing i ever tasted. Service was excelent. Staff was very friendly and the coordinator Rosalinda was very helpful. She made sure everything went smoothly which i was able to enjoy my day. And i believe prices are reasonable, they are not as expensive as The Sterling or the Sheraton. And the ballrooms are gorgeous. I used the Silver ballroom that day and it was very romantic. Parking is a little problem but what do you expect this is downtown! Well overall I would recomend this place to anyone. Thanx Capitol Plaza Ballrooms!! Not to mention they do not keep you updated you have to hound them down to get informed on anything. oH THIS IS A MUST KNOW! No parking you have to actually pay a couple hundred to reserve parking for your guest and they dont help you find or guarrant you'll get one..so what if you have a 250 guest plus..your out of luck...HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE TO DEAL WITH! Pros: NICE ROOMS Cons: ALMOST EVERYTHING ELES SUX more

Bad service 8/7/2008

I had my wedding there but i brought in my own food in which they allowed in only one room, i agree with the other user our bill started off okay which we didnt mind to a couple months down the road to nearly trippled. W e paid so much we could of had our food catered there instead of bringing in our own food. At that time we were not aware that it would be that much almost $8,000. We also found out the day of our wedding the staff that we had to pay for in which we really did not need them but we were required to have them ...cost $2O SOMETHING an hr for each of them...keep in mind we brought in our own food we did not need them to serve us because it was buffet style, they made us clean up the kitchen and bring in our own trash bags. What were they there for then.. The lady there that coordinates everything is money hungry i do not think she owns the place but she changes price that our right in front of your face. I'm sorry its not worth to rent form them unless you are sophicately rich were it does not matter where your money goes! Pros: hmm we still managed to make or wedding day great Cons: services more

More money then you thought 8/7/2008

This place has some awesome rooms, but there consultant there Rosalinda who coordinates..everything to adding more money to what you thought you'd original pay to rent their facility. You start off with an agreement that you sign that later has no refrence to the contract that she makes out later on..additional payments for linen, servers to additional taxs and service charges...not to mention the linen is only white or ivory and there napkins are an additional charge with out of date colors. They cost double then those that you can go out and pick luxury linens to coordinate with your wedding theme or colors, BUT THEY WILL ONLY ALLOW YOU TO USE THERES.
