Cozy Cottages!! 4/26/2010

Just what we expected to find in the Western Town of William's AZ.Have traveled a few times from Alaska to the West to visit the Grand Canyon and the High Desert Country. And on those occasions we weren't disappointed. We own a B&B in the Interior of Alaska, and rent a few Cabins to our visiting guests. There is no comparison to the Canyon Motel.Yes we have the Alaskan great outdoors and our Cabins are clean and nice. But Train car suites and 40's era stone cottages are just something thats hard to duplicate, Rt 66 is partly responsible. Cirra the 1940's no less. I wonder how many road weary travelers& Movie greats may have stayed here unknown by there owners. Well the owners now have a handle on that, and I'm sure if asked could tell you. This place in our view was a cozy, clean comfortable place to lodge. The way Alaskan's enjoy!! The rates were very fair and the accomodations were fine. The Folks are friendly and knowledgable.Relax, enjoy a cup of joe and the smell of the High alpine forrests of ARIZONA.A thumbs up from some new Alaskans friends!! Cheers!! more

This Place IS AWESOME! 5/18/2006

After staying here with my family and then reading this other review, I just had to laugh out loud! We all did... Our family really couldn't believe it. This had to have been written by a competitor or a real snobby type person. This charming place was built back in the 1940's and it's not like a world class resort or something built in 2006. Anyone would know this as you come down the driveway! It's rustic and it's in the most beautiful setting in the pine trees you could ever imagine! Yep, there are bugs in the woods, but not that type at a 7,000ft. elevation. A cricket I would guess! The rooms are solid Flagstone rock and at least a foot thick. Clean was exactly what we found here. The breakfast was great to say the least. It's a tiny little property and it's a Mom & Pop type place. It has so much class and Hospitality that I think the big Corporations could take a lesson from this place. It has an indoor heated pool, horseshoe area, BBQ's, fire ring, a stream running in front of the place, RV sites and more. Just look at tripadvisor.com for what most people say about this GEM. You won't be sorry unless you walk with your nose in the air all the time. Step back in time and enjoy. Dr. Sullivan & Family more

Can Stay in a Caboose or Cottage 10/10/2005

This on the outside is a very cute motel with the novelty of having three train cars that have been remodeled so you can stay in them. We just rented a regular room for a night ($70) and got there about 1 o'clock in the afternoon. The room was so small you could not move and get this NO AIRCONDITIONING!!!! It was about 90 degrees out and we were miserable. Then that night the tempeture dropped to around 50 and we froze to death. The next morning we went to their continental breakfast which was one of the worst we ever saw and right before we left we found a cockroach on the bathroom floor. Do Not Stay Here more
