I have a 98 chevy tahoe. I found a puddle of coolant under my car one morning on my way out the door. On the way to work it began making a very loud ticking noise. Being concerned about my car i took it to a local repair shop, they told me my left cylinder head was cracked and that it had leaked so much coolant into the engine it had destroyed the bearings in the motor. they said i needed a motor rebuild, they quoted me $3800. Not knowing anything about cars, i wanted a second opinion before spending such a huge sum of money. I took my car to canyon auto on pacifc highway. within seconds of showing up i was greeted by the owner lee. I asked if he would be able to look at my car, he said absolutely. he immediately took it into the shop. 30 mins later he came and talked to me, turns out it was only the intake gasket leaking and the motor was just fine. the ticking noise was due to bad lifters. the previous owner didn't change the oil enough so it built up sludge in the engine. so i had them repair the truck. the next day i had my truck back and running like a dream for $1500 not $3800. This was the best experience i've ever had at a repair shop. I will bring all of my future repairs and regular maitnence to canyon auto repair and collision. Anyone needing a honest and knowledgeable repair shop should look no father then this shop.
