My mom was bringing her dog here for a few weeks, mostly without issue. When she went to pick him up yesterday she noticed that he had been bathed, which they had NEVER done before. She asked the girl, Amanda, why she had bathed him to which she vaguely replied that she ""was bored"". When my mom got him home she noticed he had several large puncture wounds around his neck and he was bleeding, bleeding enough to drip onto the floor. She called the Canine College to find out what happened, after several unsuccessful attempts to get anyone on the phone, to which the girl said nothing happened. Understandably, dogs will get into a scuffle, the problem is that she denied having any knowledge about what happened, yet she bathed him...? If he was bleeding enough to drip onto the floor, you'd think she'd have noticed? Advertised as SUPERVISED doggie daycare, that's debatable. They wouldn't say which dog got into the fight with our dog, so he needed to be put on antibiotics and get a new rabies shot. more

What a Place and so close to Boston 1/9/2012

What a great place. While walking around Casle Island (going for a drag) w my 1 yr old Labordoodle another dog walker appraoched and said you need to go to Canine College to learn good behavior and manners. Thank goodness I did, after a few weeks of group class training sessions my dog has learnt to walk on leash, sit, down, leave it and stay with distrations. This has come in so handy in the city with so many dogs and bad things for them to get their nose into. Now I walk with out getting pulled and my dog approaches other dogs in friendly manner that has made it all worth the drive to Holbrook. Have use them a few times for daycare and an overnight and my dog loves interaction at day care and the fresh air. Thanks Canine College more

Beware of this Facility! 11/17/2008

As a vet tech in the area I have had a lot of experience with Canine College. Not only have we gotten calls from them due to having dogs escape while boarding but recently they released a dog to a friend and released the WRONG dog. This dog had spent 2 days outside and needed medical attention. Please research carefully prior to using this facility! Cons: You may leave you dog and never get him/her back more

Not recommended 7/7/2008

I had used Canine college twice before. Once for training/boarding and once for boarding. They taught my dog (commands) that he already knew so overall it was 80% a waste of money. Cons: bad management more

Canine College is a family owned & established Training,Boarding,Day Care and Grooming facility. We are located on 50 acres of fields & forests. Canine College was founded in 1970 in Holbrook Massachusetts on an old farmstead as a sporting dog and obedience kennel. We have grown over the years and have added a full line of services to accommodate all breeds of dogs. Our staffs of expert dog trainers have combined, over ninety (90) years of experience. Common problems such as jumping on people, dragging you down the street, nipping, chewing, not coming when called, and aggressive behavior are only some of the negative behaviors the we encounter. We at Canine College can meet your every need. We have training programs tailored to fit your pet and family. We treat every dog as an individual, and utilize the most recent methods and psychology of a dog’s learning and memory process. We use methods that motivate and encourage dogs to want to learn and please their human family. With the completion of the new building in 2006,we now have expanded our indoor and outdoor facilities, and have added additional day care areas. Visitors are always welcome. We commence training with Puppy Kindergarten for puppies’ age 9 weeks up to 16 weeks. After Graduation we advance you to the next level. Elementary, advanced training, off leash training and training for competition are also available. Training your dog and setting rules are very important in the success of communicating with your pet. Remember, dogs are creatures of habit. Why not form good behavioral habits before negative habits occur,by being consistent with your rules.
