Candy's is fantastic! 7/6/2009

I left two training places in search for a good trainer for my border collie, and I've found her! Cheryl is devoted to her dogs, and is fantastic with Joy. She has tons of experience, and really cares-and KNOWS- about what she's doing. In regards to the classes- I pulled Joy out of group classes because she disrupted other dogs. We asked if we could do private lessons, and she offered to stay later every thursday so Joy and I could train. I didn't feel the classes were chaotic, overcrowded or inconsistent at all. My mother is a dog trainer, so I have EXTREMELY high criteria when it comes to judging a place. If she has a lot of dogs, she sends them into the office. It's not like some other places where all of them are on top of each other. Yeah, the trainer talks a lot, but I find what she says is valuable. We're here to learn about dogs, and that's what she saying. She's teaching us through her own mistakes with dogs, or making sure we understand certain points of training. In regar more

Chaotic, OverCrowded, Inconsistent 11/17/2008

The people were friendly, loved their dogs & seemed to mean well. But beginner's & intermediate agility classes were held at the same time, on opposite ends of the same room, which led to a loud & chaotic environment. Classes were overcrowded, different instructors week to week. In multiple sessions, 1 dog assaulted other dogs - yet instructors encouraged the owners to have the dog off-leash. Recommend viewing several classes before signing up. Some people love the place & others go elsewhere, such as Wag Agilty, Northwest Obedience Club, Apex, Tracy's Doggone Farm. more

Not enough instructors. 8/8/2008

I was not real happy with this dog training school. I did not feel that the instructional floor was ever clean (the rubber mats). It was very hot in there for the Spring, no air. There were not enough instructors. There are only 2 women and they take too many dogs for beginning classes. No one with new puppies knew what to do and the individual attention was nil. I didn't expect individual training but I was not happy with this training facility. I eventually quit after the fourth session.\r They also had 15 minutes of free time out of the hour class. We always started late so did not have enough time for instruction. I would not return and eventually went to Foster's in Antioch. more
