I left two training places in search for a good trainer for my border collie, and I've found her! Cheryl is devoted to her dogs, and is fantastic with Joy. She has tons of experience, and really cares-and KNOWS- about what she's doing.
In regards to the classes- I pulled Joy out of group classes because she disrupted other dogs. We asked if we could do private lessons, and she offered to stay later every thursday so Joy and I could train. I didn't feel the classes were chaotic, overcrowded or inconsistent at all. My mother is a dog trainer, so I have EXTREMELY high criteria when it comes to judging a place. If she has a lot of dogs, she sends them into the office. It's not like some other places where all of them are on top of each other. Yeah, the trainer talks a lot, but I find what she says is valuable. We're here to learn about dogs, and that's what she saying. She's teaching us through her own mistakes with dogs, or making sure we understand certain points of training.
