Not A Vet I'll Ever Visit Again 10/4/2011

I adopted a one year old black lab pup from OHS and needed an overall "checked up" and she needed her rabies shot issued so I could get her licensed. I went to Canby Vet Clinic after researching vets in my area (I live in Canby). The receptionist was very nice and displayed great customer service. The doctor however was a bit abrasive and made our visit less about my dog and more about me and my career goals. Coming from a shelter, my dog was a little shaky and nervous when we stepped into the vet room. The doctor swatted her on the butt and told her to "man up" multiple times....as if this would calm her down. She was miserable the entire time and I couldn't wait for it to be over so I could get her the heck out of there! He didn't even suggest heartworm medicine. I will NEVER be back to this clinic !! It also doesn't help when they call for a follow up and refer to her as a HIM - read the paperwork I filled out! I will tell everyone I know to stray from wasting their time and money a more

Much Better than Dove Lewis 5/12/2010

This clinic is much much better than Dove Lewis for Emergency care. They don't nickel and dime you for every small thing, and the cost of everything here is generally cheaper. Pros: Affordable, Honest and Kind Folks Cons: - more

Happy with our Vet Clinic 2/26/2009

Canby Vet Clinic has been our vet for over five years. Their wonderful staff (especially Heather, the feisty vet tech) takes great care of our "kids": two cats and two dogs. We trust them like we would our own doctor. more

Happy Pet Owner 2/5/2009

I am new to the area and called Canby Vet to get some information about pricing on some services. Most clinics would just tell me the price of an exam and tell me they would need to see my pet before they could tell me anymore. We I spoke with Canby Vet they were so helpful and told just what to expect. I used to work in a vets office and they way they treat people and there pets is great. Thank you Canby vet. more

Good Vet - Poor Service 12/10/2008

I had been taking my boxer to Canby Veterinary Clinic for two years. The heartworm medication I had been buying from the clinic was just too expensive. I was able to find the same brand at an on-line pet pharmacy at a considerable discount. Dr. Pugsley had to write a prescription for Sentinal Heartworm Tablets, which he did for a $10 charge. However, he refused to allow his receptionist to fax it to the pharmacy's toll-free number. I had to pick up the prescription and fax it myself. That level of service is completely unacceptable. This clinic has to stay competitive if it intends to sell the medications it prescribes. more
