Clearly being a boarder for the past 10 years says a lot. Many people don't stay for a short time, they're here for the long haul. I can't think of better trainers in the area...

Horse Heaven! 2/16/2011

We love this barn. We love the Trainers who are always very fair and professional. We love the way our two horses are treated and cared for. We love the other great kids at the barn! We especially love the zero tolerance policy this barn has for bullies and the fact that yes, they are asked to leave. Riding is such a great sport for kids. It teaches so many life lessons about responsibility, kindness and strength of character. I am happy to say, the barn owners have seen to it personally that my daughter has been learning all of these lessons and becoming an amazing rider all at the same tine. WHAT ELSE COULD YOU ASK FOR? We will stay at Cameron for as long as we have horses and hopefully that will be a long time! more

My youngest child has been riding at Cameron for almost 3 years, my older daughter just started this spring. We also bought a pony from Marleta this year. She is the sweetest pony and has thrived at Cameron. Part of what I love about Cameron is that the kids learn what it takes to care for a horse. During a camp they learn how to clean their tack properly, how to muck a stall and care for the horses. My girls love being at the barn whether they are mucking stalls or riding. In my opinion if you’re going to ride & or have your own horse you should learn how to care for it, even muck their stalls every now and then. We have had only positive experiences with Marleta, Kersten and Jamie. They don’t baby the kids, they want them to learn and also be safe. They have never pushed my kids to do anything they aren’t comfortable with. I appreciate that there is no drama at the barn, it is a very family friendly environment. We have always tried to respect the trainers time (it is just as valuable as ours) and let them know if we won’t make it to a lesson, in turn they have always been very gracious in letting us do makeup lessons. We love being at Cameron Equestrian Center, my girls ask to go to the barn even on the days they don’t ride. I think they’d live there if we let them.. Pros: awesome trainers more

Of all the down home grass roots good things to say about this facility I'll just get started with emphasizing how much I feel at home here. From the kids that call the barn their second home to both Marleta and Kersten Lillejord there is a true sense of community. The care and attention given to the horses is unparalleled. Their paddocks are shaded, their feed is top quality, coats are shiny, and most importantly they love being outside!! Lessons and camps accommodate all levels of riding, from those of us who dream of making it to the Grand Prix to beginners who might not be able to tell you which end prefers treats. Simply just a wonderful place to ride and call home. Pros: Everything! Cons: Needs even more trees... more

Cameron Equestrian Center is the BEST barn i could ever ask for! Marleta and Kersten are amazing trainers that push you so that you will become the best rider you can be. They have incredible school horses that teach kids at each level of riding, whether you are a beginner or advanced.\r \r The camps are amazing and the kids go home exhausted from a full day of riding, cleaning stalls, or jumping over the jumps. We don't ""use"" the kids to clean stalls but we teach them that it is important in general horse care because even the boarders clean the stalls sometimes.\r \r The horses are kept in amazing condition. We get our hay shipped from ARIZONA because Marleta believes that that is the very best that can be offered. The horses are fed plenty of hay and even have grain and sweetfeed for balance in the horse's diets. Cameron's horses have all day turnout (except for bad weather) and most of the pastures have trees for shade. All of the stalls are equipped with fans as well.\r \r We have and incredible shoe-er. He has to make every horse shoe perfect and he treats the horses very well. He is also good about hoof problems. My horse was recently discoverd to have very bad thrush and Phillip pinpointed it and told us exactly what we needed to fix it.\r \r A very amazing thing about Cameron is that we have an indoor arena. When it rains in the summer, all the kids at other camps are sitting inside while we are riding. \r \r I loved taking lessons and doing camp and the trainers thought I was ready for a horse. My mom thought it would be too expensive to get a decent horse for me. Thankfully, Marleta had taken in a horse that the vet had found in a pasture and was trying to sell it cheap. I was put on him for one single day and my mom fell in love. He is the perfect new addition to our family. Marleta wants the best for her riders and isn't concerned about making money, but about allowing riders to excell and be the best that they are. We take home tons of ribbons at the show because we are pushed to perservere and try as hard as we can. Marleta doesn't frown on us when we don't get a big blue ribbon but she pulls us aside and tells us what we need to do to get better.\r I really love this barn. I would never go somewhere else. Pros: Everything. Cons: Cons? That word doesn't exist when used towards us. more

I have been riding with this amazing barn for 6 years. From the little girl bearly trotting on my own to jumping & showing! Pros: everything(: Cons: nothing. more

I LOVE Riding at Cameron 7/6/2010

I am so glad I found this barn. I bought my 1st horse from Marleta and I was so happy with that purchase that I bought a 2nd pony for my daughter. Kirsten and Marleta are great trainers and I appreciate the way that they push everyone - adults and kids - to be their best. My daughter has grown so much and is riding so well and she is only 6. I also want to comment on the fact that both my horse and pony are happy here. They are in turnout all day (except in bad weather) and my big horse has a double stall. They are also fed Alfalfa - not coastal - and I know my horses are taken care of when I'm not there. Their is also a large indoor arena so we ride when everyone is sitting at home!! Also, we don't have any barn psychos. So if you are a crazy person, don't come here. Pros: great training, horses have all day turnout Cons: I wish I could ride everyday! more

Please- Avoid this Stable! For your own good! 6/23/2010

I went to this barn for a while and was embarrassed to say that I rode there. Everything has a fine coat of dust on it and the paddocks and some pastures are literally knee-high in muck. The so-called wash-rack looks like a set of a horror movie and It smells like a dead horse. The lesson horses are super poor-quality, just another roadside pickup from Marleta. She is very sugar-coated until the parents leave. She makes you jump higher than you're comfortable and their way of encouraging is aggression. Jamie, the assistant instructor is friendly but if you leave turns hateful. I know many people who have left this barn due to the disgusting state and from Marleta calling out some teenagers that were innocent in the end. At camp, Marleta uses the kids to her advantage to muck stalls and put fresh bedding in them and there is nothing good about the camps. It's a rip-off- please find any other barn than this! Pros: no redeeming qualities Cons: muck-pastures and downright disgusting! more

Cameron Equestrian Center is my home away from home! cameron is a very ""family friendly"" farm. Cameron, is a great place for young girls AND young boys to grow up, learn, and of course become equestrian athletes! Pros: camps, lessons and much much more! Cons: nothing more

This Place is Great 5/4/2010

My child has been taking lessons at Cameron Equestrian for a year. She could not be happier. This is a barn that treats all children equally. Whether they own a horse or just lesson the trainers give equal time to all clients. My daughter has learned so much from the patient training of Marleta and Kersten. She looks forward to many happy years there. Pros: Everything Cons: Can not think of one more

Worth the beautiful drive out there. 5/3/2010

My kids took riding lessons here and just loved it. The owner was very supportive of their efforts and made the kids feel like they were part of a team. The trainer was very professional and they just loved her. The kids worked hard, but had fun at the same time. I enjoyed meeting and talking to all of the other parents also. The drive out there 2-3 days a week (or more) was always a beautiful drive and not a pain. I would and have recommend Cameron to other friends who were interested or whose children were interested in riding. Pros: Professional, safe, fun, inclusive. Cons: Wish I had found it sooner! more

We LOVE this place! 5/2/2010

My daughter who fell victim to the bullies that were asked to leave the barn has never felt happier than when she is riding at Cameron Equestrian. She not only got to feel the warmth of the adults that run the barn wrap their protective arms around her in defense of horrible mean teenager girls but she also got to appreciate the beauty of a place that has a zero tolerance for bulling. Let's face it, after school activities are not the place to feel bullied and afraid. When my daughter is at Cameron she is only HAPPY which is what she should feel when she is on one of her horses. As far as the kids being kicked out being found innocent? Not really, a lack of evidence is not the same thing as being found innocent - lack of evidence means they were very good and sneaky at what they did - good riddance I say! Pros: Excellent care of horses, Most knowledgeable trainers around Cons: none more
