It is unreal to me how this place stays in business. A bunch of greedy arrogant semi business people. Went in to give them a try because I try to support local business but this one's definitely a joke. Had an item ""on sale"" which I bought like a fool without checking what the market price was, turns out their ""sale price"" was 50% higher than anyone else s regular price. Obviously that why they only give store credit because they know you will be back.\r In this day and age of retail who in the world has a store only credit??? And on top of that they sold me something that is not recommended by the camera manufacturer to go with my camera. No more and I spend lots of money...but not there more

I am a local novice photographer and wanted to purchase some new items for a Canon EOS Rebel T3i. So, I went there with my wife (since we lived within the area) and was greeted by Lauren Ruebsamen. After gathering a few accessories for the camera, we purchased them, and left. Later on that day, I did some more shopping at Best Buy and found significantly cheaper prices on ALL the items I purchased earlier at Cameraworks. I was completely shocked at the price differences! So, I went back to Cameraworks where I wasn't so happily greeted after learning I wanted a refund. They told me, ""It's company policy to give store credit on items and NEVER refund money!? I was shocked again, since I didn't open ANY of the items and was NEVER told about this absurd company policy before purchase!? They then told me it was MY FAULT for not reading their disclaimer printed on their display cases...which wasn't next to me when I bought my items! Another employee (older man with a grizzly beard) even butted into our conversation to mock me about ""my ignorance"" of store policy! I gritted my teeth and my wife stopped me from jumping over the counter and beating this guy's ass! What a condescending f*&#$%!!! I quickly grab a camera bag equaling the difference and told them they need to tell their potential customers about company polices BEFORE purchasing and that we would NEVER RETURN. They didn't just lose my business, but my family's and friends' business as well so the jokes on them I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN!!! more

I wanted a digital point and shoot camera for my wife to use. It needed to be easy enough for quick shots but also offer more complex setting for her more creative side. I went to Cameraworks on the advice of a friend. I gave them my price range of $250-$300. The experts at Cameraworks were wonderful. They showed me several cameras that fit my specifications, demonstrated the benefits of each and researched my questions if they did not know the answer off the top of their heads. They also provided me with several additional resources so that I could continue my research. They were not pushy and they took their time to answer each of my questions. more

Cameraworks is perhaps one of the worst stores I have ever been to. I have had a number of bad experiences with them. When I first went their, I asked a question about a nikon camera system which I already know to see how well informed they were. They were unable to give me an answer to my question. That should have been a red flag. I have personally witnessed them try to sell a customer a camera for four times what the camera was worth on a fair market. I have also gone in to by a sheet of negative holders. I only needed one but they only sold them in packs of 25. they were unwilling to open a pack and sell me a single sheet. their return policy on film is disgusting to me. by this I mean that if the film is a bad batch in anyway they will not reimburse you in anyway. the same goes for their prints. they claim they are not liable for any damage or lose of your media. This was the final straw for me. I had three roles of film developed by them, only two of which were printed, the third roll was a roll of 120 positive slide film. I told them this when I dropped the roles off for developing. when I got the prints back, first off, they charged me 64 dollars!! outrageous, especially for the quality of work that was done. Every print was gray, no blacks, and no whites. the negatives were good so I am not sure what they were thinking but the prints looked like a high school photo 101 student printed them. and to top it off, the positive film i had dropped off was developed with the wrong chemicals. the film looked like negatives instead of positives. not only that but there were chemical finger prints and stains all over the film. For 60 dollars the work should have been perfect, and what i got was worse than any print I have ever received before. In sum, they are very overpriced, the quality of work is below par, and they try to up sell you most of the time, I would not recommend having anything to do with them if it can be avoided. I have since switched to mailing my film and digital prints out, and the price is about half the price, and much better quality. more
