Well after spending $4500 pool looks worse than it did before I got it replastered. I have been waiting over a month for owner of Cameo and Owner of Subcontracting firm to show up...

Initially positive but the quality of service deteriorated 1/23/2014

We had an initially positive experience with Cameo Pools, but the quality of the customer service deteriorated as the work continued. In the beginning, it was really quite good. Joe Delora came to the house and gave us an estimate. He went in the backyard and did the measurements for the estimate. We then had to go into the office to review his bid, which was a little inconvenient. We know half of the companies do it that way, but the other half do that portion over email, which really is more convenient though more impersonal. So we understood the need to go in. We were getting estimates from other companies, but in the end we chose Joe's over a few others. We went into the office a second time to sign the paperwork and give them a deposit. I guess that day Joe had a sales meeting, so we weren't given a copy of the agreement that day. Joe said he would email us a copy, but he never did. That was the first let down in the process. It was the first promise made to us that wasn't kept. The process of getting the pool started moved smoothly. I was in contact with a girl at their office via email, and overall it went pretty decently. Unfortunately our sprinkler system for our front and back yards were destroyed in the process. A few times the contractors who were doing the work didn't realize what were our belongings and which were the company's. At one point they used a rake from our neighbors yard and left with it. Our neighbors were pretty upset, so that we in turn had to deal with that problem. Another time they left with one of our shovels, and Cameo had to replace that as well as another piece of our plywood that was used. I spoke with the foreman at one point, who said that when they were done working they would do a temporary barricade around the work. They didn't do it, so I couldn't let my dogs out when I got home from work. Instead, at six months pregnant, I had to move around some of the cinder blocks to get at the plywood that was in place. It was frustrating to say the least. The rest of the process was pretty decent up until the end. We set up an appointment with Anthony, who said he would come back out and show us how to take care of the pool and put in the swimmer that cleans the bottom of the pool. He never did that. We had to contact them and say it hadn't been done yet. At that point we also were asking again for the copy of the signed estimate Joe promised us. When Anthony did come out to do the set up, he told us the variable speed pump and the ozonator were not installed with the system. We were surprised because we told Joe were interested in having those two pieces, and we thought we elected to have them. But since we never received a copy of the estimate, we didn't know they weren't included. We still don't have a copy of the signed estimate. We were given a copy, but it's not the signed version. If we had received the copy at the very beginning and discovered we weren't getting the equipment we wanted, this could have been corrected. We would happily have paid for any difference in price to get the two pieces we wanted. Also, in the end, despite our brushing the pool four times a day like we're supposed to, it seems that because the swimmer wasn't installed right away, plaster particles have adhered to the bottom of the pool. We contacted Cameo to have that addressed, but they haven't gotten back to us yet about getting it fixed. The girl I spoke with said she would have to talk with someone in the warranty department, but with the holidays, we haven't heard back. When it came to getting the our business, Cameo Pools was good to work with and very friendly. But the level of customer service dropped off, and continues to drop off, once they had our business. If you end up using them, make sure you get everything in writing before you leave the office. Don't leave without a copy, because otherwise you won't have proof that you are getting the equipment you wanted. Be on top of it, because what's said and what's done with Cameo is not always the same thing. - H. Welch RESPONSE FROM Cameo Pools: Hi Husn, Thank you for your feedback on your experience. I have personally looked into this and hope to explain some of what happened from our side. We do show that that at the time of the contract signing you did receive the yellow copy of the contract which detailed out the exact amounts of what was included and excluded. I apologize if this was not what you expected. The contract you signed is the legally binding agreement we have to follow and it does show exactly what you are getting or unfortunately in the case what you were not getting. The estimate is not something that gets signed. That is why there was nothing to send you as the contract is an exact copy of what is estimated along with all of the construction details and expectations. We can still install a variable speed pump and an ozone system as an upgrade after the fact. As you are aware the extra for these items is significant, not a small sum to change to them. We will be happy to come out and install those for you if you do really want them. I have an ozone system on my pool and love it and would highly recommend it if it fits your budget. As for the vacuum system, they are not be installed for 30 days after the plaster is installed. this is because the plaster needs to cure and harden and the vacuum would have left track marks on the bottom of the new finish. This is why in your contract it states that you are responsible to brush the pool, bottom, steps and benches 3-4 times a day for 7 or more days and then as debris lands in the pool to also brush that down to the drain. This ensures all the plaster particles, which can re adhere to the surface, are removed and your finish is smooth and not rough. This is the recommended way to care for a newly plastered pool per the Nation Pool Plaster Council, the industry standards setter. The pages in the back of your owners manual detail the proper chemical balancing and brushing to make sure your finish stays gorgeous! Kathleen is working to have the plaster company come out and see how the finish has performed and see what can be done to smooth it out at this point. We hope you and your new baby enjoy the pool this summer! more

Great job! Very happy. 10/30/2013

We initially contacted Cameo Pools' salesman. He was prompt, very knowledgeable about the pool, and helped us design the pool. When we signed a contract with them, they were very prompt in coming out to dig the pool. The contractors they used were excellent, on time, cleaned up after themselves, left no mess in the yard, and answered all of our questions. If there were any issues, they were cleaned up very quickly. They were very helpful. We've had no problems with the pool and have had it for a year now. We're very happy with Cameo Pools. more

After 7 years--- 9/10/2013

After 7 years, my pool still looks great. Cameo service department is still as prompt as they were 7 years ago. 3 other people have had Cameo install their pool in my neighborhood as a result of my great installation. My best pool of the 4 I have had. more

Wonderful! 9/4/2013

My experience with Cameo Pools has been wonderful. The young man that came out was absolutely marvelous. He knew his job really well and did it really well. He answered all of my questions as well, no matter how stupid they were. He treated me like I was his only customer. He was very, very informative and made suggestions as to what I could do in the future. Cameo put my pool in years ago. I tried another company once, who Cameo had referred me to for a job, and they did okay, but I just wasn't really pleased with their service. So I called Cameo again hoping they could do what I needed this time around. They could and I was assured that in future they are going to expand the services they offer. I wouldn't call anybody else. I certainly got all the help I needed. more

Totally non responsive to problems. If they don't get it right the first time, they may never show up again. more

Excellent communication and outstanding customer service 7/15/2013

Cameo Pool's customer service is outstanding. They communicated with me through the whole completion of the pool. Any time there was a small issue they are on it. Best experience I've ever had with a pool company. I would give them a 10. I've already recommended them. more

New pool build - April 2012 6/17/2013

We had a fantastic experience with Cameo Pools. The initial consultation thru completion was a smooth transition. Our questions were answered and each phase was completed in a timely manner to our satisfaction. We were very pleased with all aspects of our new pool build experience! My family is enjoying our sparkling pool! more

Did a great job! 6/14/2013

Dale, Andy and Marcee did a great job. If it was not for Marcee I don't know how I would have made it. more

Great follow-through and integrity with work done 5/29/2013

Cameo Pools is there anytime I call them, regardless of the time frame I give them to get here. They follow through with anything that is wrong, like a defective part. They work with me and make sure it is fixed before they leave, rather than working on it quickly and leaving before I can see it is done. Great customer service. more

Very good experience. 5/28/2013

It was a pleasant experience, for the most part everything went well. Larry was great to work with, the designs they came up with were fantastic. They were good at keeping on schedule and keeping us informed. Only reason I gave them a 4 was there were a few minor issues that took a little longer to get resolved than we had hoped. The quality of the work and everything was very good though. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 2/4/2013

We hired Cameo to put in a new pool for us and immediately the plaster started staining (before the pool was filled with water). We were told the staining is part of the curing process and to give it 6-8 weeks. Well the staining never went away and we get regular comments that our pool looks 10 years old and it was not even a few months old.\r \r We contacted Cameo and received a letter of intent for them to repair the plaster, well almost 1 year later no repairs have occured. For months now I have been told it will be corrected. I am trying to work with them but to no avail. They received their money and now we are not a priority! \r \r I cannot recommend them from the standpoint that they appear to not honor warranty work/repairs even with a letter of intent. I have filed a formal complaint with BBB, but all that will do is buy them another couple of weeks to not do anything. more

Well after spending $4500 pool looks 4/25/2012

Well after spending $4500 pool looks worse than it did before I got it replastered. I have been waiting over a month for owner of Cameo and Owner of Subcontracting firm to show up and look at the issues. New Plaster is badly stained. I was told sub contractor had big jobs so I have to wait to get my issue resolved. Do yourself a favor and go with someone else. I conducted research and they seemed to check out but my experience with customer service has been poor they keep promising next week to be out but I have been told that for 3+ weekls now. I might have to sue if they do not resolve issue. more

My Great Cameo Pool! 9/10/2010

I have never owned a pool, so when i started working on designing a pool and purchasing one, I wanted a great pool at a great price. I found that in Cameo pools. What separated Cameo Pools from the large manufacturers was that you came to my house twice to sit down with me and designed my pool on your laptop. I could see instant results and you worked around my schedule. That was very nice. Each and every phase of the pool was done with professionalism and skill. Your skilled labor was amazing to watch. How they formed the rebar, plumbed the pool, shot and formed the gunite, but the best part was watching my tile being set. That was what made my pool POP!!! It looked fantastic and I was very very pleased. Not only did I get a great pool at a great price, but it was completed on time, as promised at a price I could afford and with everything I wanted in a pool.Thank you cameo pools, you did a fantastic job. more

Impressive from start to finish 7/12/2007

We have built 3 new homes and 2 new pools. We are self-proclaimed picky people. Having said this, we were totally ""wowed"" and impressed by Cameo pools. Larry had fresh, fun and new ideas for us that helped make our dream backyard oasis a reality. We were tired of seeing the same old ""cookie cutter pools"" and being told to ""pick your design"" from a book of templates. This is definitely not the way Cameo Pools works. We told Larry what we envisioned for our backyard and he went to work with all types of creative design ideas including us throughout the entire process. Not only was the design exactly what we wanted, but the professionalism and timeliness were impeccable. Every promise he made was kept. The subcontractors he used were polite, professional and did a marvelous job cleaning up at the end of each day of working. Especially given that our pool had quite a bit to it, we were impressed at Cameo's ability to build quickly without sacrificing quality. We are so happy with our new pool and would definitely recommend Cameo Pools for a gorgeous pool and great experience! Pros: Quality, Service, Innovative design, Timeliness more
