MAKE SURE DEVELOPMENT ALMOST FINISHED!! 8/2/2009

I live in a home built by Cambridge Isenhour. The quality of the home is wonderful. The problem - you have to live in a Cambridge Isenhour community. If the neighborhood you are looking at is almost complete, or if they have nothing to do with the HOA, then I recommend them. If they are still in charge of the HOA - run as fast as you can!!!! In my experiance, if Todd Isenhour or Gary Smith don't have to live in the community, then they act as if they could care less if it looks like junk most of the time. In our case, they have hired consolidated landscaping - which ""landscaping"" is stretching it. We pay $1,236 per year in HOA fees and live in a development (The Highlands at Meadowlands) where the townhomes are 3 to a building. Yet, we often go two weeks in between mowings (despite the supposed landscaping contract which dictates a week) - even when it has been raining constantly. Yet, Cambridge Isenhour routinely defends the poor landscaping and reminds the residents that it will be a long time before we can have any real input. They set up an ""advisory committee,"" which does nothing and has no power to ""collect complaints."" Little is ever done about the complaints once collected - mostly just a way for them to avoid hearing them all the time. While the advisory committe is made up of 2 residents, the advisory committe was not elected by the residents (they were chosen by Cambridge Isenhour), has no power, and has no responsibilty. In the end, it has been over a year now (we are still waiting on our 11-month warranty work to be completed), and if I had it to do over again, I would have run away as fast as I could. Before you use them, make sure you know exactly what they do and don't have power over. Also, look around the community - around the existing homes. I certainly wish I had taken the time to do that.
