Be sure to use the desk and not the book drop to return books. Also get a receipt while you are at it. It looks like someone on the staff is grabbing returned books and making off...

Lucky to be in Camarillo 3/4/2012

When I moved to Camarillo 3 years ago, I made a visit to the library because our internet was still not hooked up. What an impressive library!! Beautiful design, great children's area with a pirate ship in the middle, a used book store where you can purchase 2nd hand books, a coffee shop with outdoor seating, a movie rental box for free DVD rentals, a scheduled geneologist and a friendly staff. They have tons of computers and most times, that I needed one, I've never had to wait. (You can use ancestry-dot-com at no charge there). You can also access the library from home online and search for books and place a hold. They will either e-mail or text you when your book is there. Also, if you want to safely drop off a book, you can put it in their outdoor drop box or there is one indoors. I feel so lucky to be living so close to an awesome library!! more

Filcher on the loose here? 11/29/2011

Be sure to use the desk and not the book drop to return books. Also get a receipt while you are at it. It looks like someone on the staff is grabbing returned books and making off with them. This has been reported to the police, the library director and the managing company LSSI and each point the finger at someone else. Patrons are considered guilty until proven innocent. You will be automatically fined $50 per book regardless of the real value of the book. Pretty neat scheme, huh? more
