They have excellent breakfast and lunch and not just the typical fare. I highly recommend Cafe Patachou!

breakfast not what it used to be 11/29/2010

Had breakfast at 49th. and Penn today for the first time in several years. The omelet was nothing like in the past. It was cool, not warm. The spinach was barely there, and the feta was so sparse that it was only on the last few bites on one end of the omelet. Very disappointing indeed. The mushrooms were there but not very many at all. My husband was disgusted that he paid extra for cheese and there was hardly any at all. Outrageous! Then, the waitress asked if she could remove his plate while he was just taking a bite from his last piece of toast!!!! What!! He could hardly respond because his mouth was full. They were not even busy. We will not becoming here for breakfast again. Too expensive and not what it used to be. more

Great local food 5/13/2008

Ate lunch here today for the first time and was very impressed. The chicken salad on wheat, with fresh greens salad was wonderful. The service was also excellent. Most importantly however, the restaurant supports local farmers (chicken, eggs, produce, etc.) as much as possible. As good of a reason as any to try it out. more

Disappointing 8/4/2007

A group of us tried the downtown location after hearing how great it was. The four of us each ordered something different, and we were all underwhelmed to say the least. The salad I had tasted like I was eating my own lawn and the sandwich had no personality whatsoever, I could hardly taste it. The prices were ridiculous for what we got. The service wasn't all that either. We (3 women) were hardly noticed at all until our very goodlooking male friend joined us. There seemed to be a lot of attitude that was just uncalled for. I won't be back. Cons: horrible food, poor service, high priced for what you get more

Great ecclectic menu with wonderful servers. 5/8/2007

I love the self service coffee bar. They always have a great variety. The Downtown location is by far my favorite. Sundays are cool and the servers are always great. They have one that reminds me of Maggie Gyllenhall. Cute!! The food is different but very good. Try the omellettes as they are always good. The chef comes up with some cool combos. The granola with yogurt is great too. We start many motorcyle rides there and it is always good. I tried to go there at lunchtime during the week and it was packed with the Simon building employees and I did not want to wait. This is one of my favorite breakfast spots downtown. Give it a go. Pros: Service and Self Serve Coffee Bar Cons: Parking if Conventions in town. Prices are a litte high. more

Very poor service. 2/18/2007

I read these revies and made the mistake of going to the Carmel cafe. The food is mediocre and the portions are small but it was the service which was very poor. I did not find them to be friendly at all and maybe the other locations has better staff but this place needs a serious attitude adjustment. I would definitely not go back to this location again. Pros: parking, location. Cons: service, service, service. more

Yum! 10/30/2004

Their Cinnamon Toast is reason enough to come back again and again! Their salads are really good, in addition to their omelets. I like the ambiance of the Pennsylvania St. Patachou more than the one at Keystone at the Crossing. Pros: Good price, Fresh Food more

Great breakfast place 7/18/2004

I really enjoy Patachou for breakfast. Their oatmeal is creamy and delicious. The also have homemade granola which is amazing, especially when eaten with fresh fruit and yogurt. They also have omelettes and fresh bread which is used for toast. Definitely a keeper. Pros: Cheap, Fresh, Different more

Best Breakfast around 1/16/2003

By far the best breakfast in Indy. If you want more ""normal"" food, try Denny's. But if you want imaginative, well-prepared and healthy menu choices, try Patachou. more

NEVER AGAIN 12/16/2002

WE SAW THE REVIEWS, AND HURRIED OUT TO TRY THE BEST BREAKFAST IN TOWN. NEVER AGAIN! TINY TABLES. VERY LIMITED WEIRD MENU. NOT THE NORMAL BREAKFAST FARE. MAYBE FOR HIPPES-AU NATURAL. EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT YOU GET. more

Freshest in town 10/14/2002

Went home to visit my family this weekend and on Saturday morning we went to Cafe Patachou. The meal was amazing. I had the Japalano, tomato and white cheddar omlette and it was perfect. The fruit was fresh and the cinnamon toast was very tasty. It was rated top 10 breakfasts in USA by Bon Appetite and I would 100% agree... this is a great start to the day! more
