Cafe Mozart
My wife and I dine at Cafe Mozart each time we are in Leavenworth. There are several good restaurants in Leavenworth but after finding Cafe Mozart we always dine there.
Staffing for the restaurant is dependent on the expected tourism. So if you’re used to dining at a broiler in Seattle or New York where they have a big staff you will not have the staff with a server for each course. Remember you’re in Leavenworth.
The Cafe is staffed by well trained, qualified people that will do everything to make your dining experience at Cafe Mozart a pleasure. The chief and owner, Richard, has created a menu that has many Bavarian favorites and Angus beef cooked to order. The wine selection is outstanding and they have german beer on draft.
The salad they serve with each dinner is the Bavarian Sampler Salad. It consists of sample portions of carrot , cucumber , german potato, cabbage and a mixed green salad. Each sample has its own dressing. The mixed green salad has Mozart’s famous balsamic raspberry dressing. Two kinds of warm Bavarian bread is served.
The veal Schnitzels with wild mushroom sauce and Lionize potatoes is the best I’ve ever eaten. The portions are generous so you can share some with your guest.
If it is busy, service will be a little slow. Be patient. Order one of the fine draft german beers or a bottle of domestic or imported wine when you’re seated and waiting for dinner. This is not a business lunch or dinner where speed of service somehow is thought to be more important than a great meal. If you’re in Leavenworth you must be on holiday so kick back and enjoy one of the great meals at Cafe Mozart.
