We are big fans of Cafe Asia. They have a diverse menu, sure to please anyone. Plus, the prices are very reasonable. more

inexpensive but good pan-asian 8/25/2005

Cafe Asia on I St. has a funky, modern, almost industrial-feeling decor that brings in the young, beautiful, but not waealthy. And why not? The pan-asian food if good and fresh, and not expensive. There's a sushi happy hour as well as drink special on weekdays. If you're interestd in converastion, opt for an upstairs table where the vibe is a little calmer. Downstairs, the bar is crowded and the tables are full. more

Good sushi - fun atmosphere 8/21/2005

This relatively new version of Cafe Asia moved from its previous downtown location and it is a big step up. You walk inside to a vast space of tables below, many with comfortable couches and chairs. It feels more like New York than DC. The atmosphere is very high energy with music playing and the din of voices of many happy sushi lovers. It does sometimes get too loud to hear people at your own table. I think the acoustics of the walls don't help. The sushi is good. Not the best, but the happy hours are a great deal. more

Sushi and More 8/15/2005

The food I've had here has been very good but the service isn't always as prompt as one might like. It's a nice place to go with friends from work for lunch (it's conveniently located right in the business district) and the decor is a lot of fun---sit on leather-covered stools at long low tables. The food ranges from sushi to all sorts of asian style meat and noodle dishes. They sometimes have good happy hour specials too, but this can change so check before you go. Happy dining! more
