I don't like my neighbors telling me what I can and can't do with my property

Editorial review from Citysearch 6/23/2013

Other than, ignoring bylaws and making policy, making up board member restrictions that aren't in bylaws, paying to mow an area not owned by the HOA, not mowing an area that is owned by the HOA, encouraging board members to rally around giving away it's property, ignoring Bylaws that require an audit of the greenbelt, providing illegible maps, ignoring board member demands for competing bids on greenbelt maintenance, ignoring Association Maintenance Fencing when policing the neighborhood for weed violations, Not notifying homeowners in advance of previously planned board meetings, refusing to entertain the idea to get bids on lawyers (because ""they all charge about the same"") taking days or weeks to return important calls, ignoring calls, ignoring e-mails, Ignoring approved board meeting minutes when read aloud and asked ""Have those steps have been followed""? (""your interpreting them""), Not providing Board Member training, confusing the difference between Board member prospective candidates and ""acting board members"", inventing insurance restrictions not mentioned in cc&rs, taking months to reply to homeowners who have requested waivers of fees, Rude statements to board members, blase' reactions to waste of Associations funds, they are actually a GREAT Management company more

Barbara Ann! 4/11/2012

For several month now I have been discussing with Barbara on the phone and through e-mails on how to go about and why I needed approval to make changes to my Garage so that it becomes the best Man Cave in my neighborhood and in our HOA . She was always so professional and endured every silly question. It was a joy working with her and the ACC. Last night she was part of the CMA Staff that was there to assist with our Annual Meeting. And I met Barbara in person. She was what I imagined. I love Barbara and I love CMA. She is CMA! CMA should clone her! more

Incompetent 1/31/2011

I cannot believe just how incompetent their employees are. I'm not typically the kind of person to go on and write mean reviews but this was riddiculous. more

Keeps on ticking 1/12/2010

We are starting off the New Year right. Somebody must be doing something right. Our taxes didn't go up. Our hoa dues didn't go up. Our neighorhood looks great. The annual garage sale paid for Christmas. We made it through the holidays with no breakins in our block. The street lightsare working. We are glad we live in a hoa. more

Bah Humbug 12/23/2009

I don't like my neighbors telling me what I can and can't do with my property more

Collections on vacant houses 12/20/2009

I just saw the year to date financials & it looks like we are finally collecting on some of our deadbeats who are way past due, even the one that walked away from their homes and left their houses vacant and their GARBAGE in the yard. Pros: good lawyers Cons: need more skip tracing more

no dues increase 12/1/2009

we just got our annual dues invoice. I don't know how they do it with the bad economy and all the houses that are under water; but, there are no dues increase for our association, we may have less parties and gatherings in 2010, so hopefully our governing board with the help of cma can keep us goin' one more year and maybe by then there will be more jobs for everyone Pros: realistic budgets Cons: limits on social functions more

Thankful 11/29/2009

On this Thanksgiving season I am thankful for my HOA, the management company, the landscape crew and especially my neighbors. Lets have another block party. Emily G. more

Grand Peninsula - Grand Prairie 11/21/2009

We held our Annual Meeting at Daulton Elementary on November 19. I was so proud of our Board. They are so professional. And we are quite fortunate to have CMA as our management company. We are especially blessed to have Toni as our assigned manager. She is wonderful! Pros: Toni as our manager Cons: Should have gotten her on board sooner more

CMA Awards 11/13/2009

Last night I watched the CMA Awards, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood are still my favorites. THANK YOU CMA. You guys get it right most of the time. more

good customer service 11/10/2009

i understand that everything may not be an emergency but at least they listened and followed up the next day, it turned out to be a home warranty issue but at least i talked to someone who actually cared about my problem Pros: even got a 24 hour emergency number Cons: some emergencies have to wait more

Dallas 11/1/2009

Not too bad for a management company more

I give them 10 stars 10/26/2009

After seeing my fellow neighbors make fools of themselves at the last Annual Meeting. CMA deserves 10 stars. What bothers me now is knowing how crazy some of my neighbors really are. more

better 10/25/2009

As far as I can tell cma does a pretty good job, better than the last mgmt co. more

A Homeowner Association 10/21/2009

We haven't moved very much, but we have graduated to different neighborhoods first in Fort Worth , then to mid-cities and now in north Fort Worth. It doesn't take long to see the difference between the neighborhoods without any organization compared to the neighborhoods with a mandatory homeowner's association. We have learned that it is better to live in a community where there is an association than living in one where the neighbors keep their cars on cinder blocks on the front yard. We have also learned that the enforcement of the rules vary from different management companies. So far we like CMA. It seems to be the best. Pros: maintains property values Cons: it is mandatory more

they kept our neighborhood together 10/15/2009

Last year when the builder pulled out of our Fort Worth neighborhood because of the housing crisis, we were kinda left high and dry. CMA stepped in and organized us. We were able to keep the pool open and all the events for the kids. They handled all of the details that were required and made sure the landscape people did what they were suppose to do. They were there when we really needed them. Pros: financial reports Cons: a lot of rules & guidelines more

5 Stars for CMA 10/14/2009

We've used CMA's Homeowner's Association services for over 4 years in Southlake. We have never had a problem. more

Great Website 9/30/2009

It may take a little time to explore, but with a little effort you can handle all of your HOA business on line. I wish I had used it sooner. Pros: Website has everything you need Cons: You have to know what you are looking for more

All OK 9/30/2009

This is the first time that I have lived in a homeowner's association. So far everything seems to be OK more

Good Depth 9/30/2009

The first thing I noticed was that RTI/CMA Management had backup employees. When the employee who was assigned to our neighborhood was on vacation or had a schedule conflict, they always had a backup manager who seem to know the ins & outs of our Fort Worth property. This is a goog thing. Everyone should have a backup system in place. Pros: They have back up managers Cons: None so far more
