Does anyone else find it odd that ALL of the rave reviews are from reviewers who haven't reviewed any other businesses? Does anyone also find it odd that all these rave reviews generally come in large # and succession after a not-so-hot review? I find this very curious. Yet another reason I will not be returning.\r

I came to this salon after I got a referral from my trainer and a coupon. The decor is really fun and modern and the store is next door to my favorite Cupcakery. Anyway, I never need anything fancy done with my hair, just a pretty straightforward cut with soft layers and a quick style (no coloring, no special conditioning treatments, etc.). After the strangest hair appointment of my life, I left that salon with an awful, choppy layered look that I didn't ask for. I was also over $100 poorer (and this was AFTER a 50% off coupon). This was just for a simple cut!!\r

The appointment was strange because my hairdresser kept talking about the oil in my hair and how I have to learn to ""embrace it"" and ""let it work for [me]"". First of all, I don't have oily hair, so I quickly tuned out the very interesting character/hairdresser. Second, her suggestions to help me ""embrace"" my oil and ""let it work for [me]"" included regimens to help produce oil in the first place, with brilliant ideas such as not washing my hair for a week and painstakingly brushing the oil through my hair. Ummmmmm gross?! Finally, I enjoy taking daily showers and washing my hair on a regular basis thank you very much. Why would I pay anyone over a $100 to tell me my hygiene is TOO good? So very strange.\r

Sadly, I will never go back to this salon. I much prefer my trusty stylist of over 10 years. Even though he's a bit of a drive for me, I'll take his talent, indifference to oil idolatry, and fair prices any day. And seriously ladies, do you really all spend this much for hair care? It's absurd.
Pros: cute salon, next to Vanilla Bake Shop
Cons: strange staff, excessive prices
