I am so glad that I found Butterfly. I was looking for a place to eat breakfast before I was scheduled to tour Alcatraz, and one of the closest places to the departure was Butterfly. I glanced at their menu on the door, and anxiously awaited for them to open their doors so I could try their brunch. It didn't disappoint. The service was excellent, attentive, and full of thoughtful suggestions. I had a peanut butter and Nutella monte cristo with a berry jelly.  I think they could have been a little more generous with the peanut butter and Nutella, because the bread was pretty thick. But it was so good, I really had no complaints. We had some fabulously seasoned edamame (with some unique salts), as an appetizer that was included. I know it sounds a little weird with my sugary breakfast, but it worked out well, and the flavors didn't clash too badly. It might have been a better appetizer choice for my friends who had seafood and egg dishes. But the view of the pier was nice, and I look for
