Lots of fun for toddlers 9/16/2005

This kids museum is yet another little gem for Lafayette and its toddlers. It's filled with fun activities for kids from about 16 months to 6 or 7 years old. Some examples of exhibits are: pretend grocery store and bank, dance stage with costumes, coin-operated model train, playhouse with kitchen, pirate ship, music room, craft room, science room. Plus there are quite a few more as well as some outdoor exhibits. Everything is very hands-on. It's also a fun place to have birthday parties. We have an annual membership and find that it's a nice fallback on days that are too hot, cold or rainy. more

WoW Children's Museum 8/15/2005

What do you do with the kids in town on a dreadfully cold and snowy day when you really can't be outside and you really don't want to take them to McDonald's Playland? The WoW Museum. It stands for World of Wonder, and it's a great distraction for kids ages 1 - 9. A great big pirate ship is the center of the play, but there's an art area, musical instruments, science experiements, a dress-up stage, building materials, and more. Guess what else? They do birthday parties. more

Very Fun 8/10/2005

This is a wonderful place to spend some time with your children. There are a lot of learning activities as well as just plain fun stuff. I don't know of a toddler who doesn't like the train or the pirate ship. There is a music room with a piano and other instruments to try out. There is an art room with lots of messy fun supplies to work on your creativity. The kiosks that have the puzzles in the main area are fantastic for older children. Overall it's a really neat place to enjoy a few hours. The only downside I can think of is that the pirate ship plank gets chaotic, especially when there are older & younger children there. I always worry about the toddlers getting run over because all the children want to climb up onto the ship and there's only one way up. more
