I don't buy anything here 12/28/2005

Focus is a trendy department store in the San Gabriel Plaza that caters to an Asian market. I suspect that most of their customers are probably tourists and the wealthy. It is too expensive and I have not bought anything from there. It is nice to look around though, just to see what's on sale and the trends in fashion. more

Beautiful store with a variety of things 10/29/2005

This is an Asian type of department store since it is located in a large commercial center which cater to the local Asian community. It houses makeup counters, Sanrio type goodies, massage chairs, clothes, and other trinkets and even has a restaurant on the very top floor. It is a great place to shop and eat, and the surrounding bookstores and such really make it a great experience. more

Not your average dept. store 10/2/2005

This department store is located in the San Gabriel Shopping Center right along Valley Blvd. This multi-level department store is not your typical department store. Throughout the department store, are boutiques owned by different owners, so you can find one of a kind items ranging from shoes to handbags to clothing. more

losing its appeal 9/25/2005

Focus started off very strong a few years ago because it was one of the first of the more classy plazas in the area. The bottom floor sells beauty products at a decent price, while upper levels sell fairly high-end clothing and tons of the typical Asian stuffed animals, accessories, etc. I personally think it's a good place to browse and windowshop, but there are plenty of better-priced places on Valley Blvd nowadays. more

one store..many things 8/16/2005

This is a mini department store located on the first floor of a tall building. The bottom floor houses makeup counters, women's clothing, piano vendor, bedding, gifts, baby items, and car accessories. It's one floor of different vendors selling their different items. Prices are ok for the gifts section. I haven't really bought anything else from here before. I usually go to this one vendor to buy refills for my car air freshner, good prices. They also sell some Hello Kitty, Pucca, and other items like these. more

Hey, it's by the sushi place I like.. 8/8/2005

This place isn't Nordstrom. Rather, it's like a slightly higher end Chinatown. I sometimes come here to buy all my Shiseido skin care stuff because face it, it's a bit cheaper than what I pay at department stores. I haven't wandered around the clothing or jewelry sections yet because I lack the time and patience to stay around here for longer than an hour. I'd come by only if it's a detour to the food and other clothing stores around this area. more

Giftshop 8/8/2005

Focus Plaza is a multilevel shopping department store that rents out spaces to various vendors and they sell items from clothing to furniture. Think Asian Sears. On the bottom floor they have a gift shop that sells little trinkets and car accessories and they have a huge collection of pillows and stuffed animals. The store is a little bit on the pricey end but some of the stuff on sale isn't bad. I don't think they have a return policy so if you buy it you will keep it. more
