STEALERSHIP BEWARE 5/7/2009

WARNING: I bought a Certified Pre-Owned Car from this stealership back in January 2009. They talked up this 2005 Anniversary Addition GLI Jetta and how they had just sold 5 the week before I purchased mine. They went into a whole pitch about their 20 gazillion point check certification process and how like new this car was. They raved about how great their service and reputation were. Within the first two weeks, I had to bring my car in. It rained and water POURED into my passenger side. It took them 2 days and a full dismantling of my car before they determined they need to replace some sunroof hoses. This process took them a week and when I got my car back, I had a new windshield (don't ask my why) and they had left various tools including a solar panel charger in my trunk. Bonus I guess, but I felt like they were my car had been in surgery and the surgeons had sewn up the patient and negligently left instruments inside. A week later, my battery made a loud pop and the AAA agent found they battery had exploded and disconnected. Coincidental that McKenna had just disconnect it a week before? I think not. Well here I am…less than 2500 miles into my ownership of the car and the “Check BrakePad” illuminates on my dashboard. I took it to the service department and they informed me I needed to get new brakes and routers!?! This stealership is outrageous and a total sham. They are horrible to deal with and their service is sloppy. DO NOT Trust this dealership nor their service department! more

VW dealer 8/14/2005

The parts department of this dealership is always helpful in finding the part I need. They were patient in helping me find an oddball shaped screw part for my VW. Went here once for an oil change (usually go to Commonwealth VW) and the pushy service guy tells me I need the inside of my engine cleaned out for an extra $180. I knew I did not need this so that irritated me a little. more

At times like this.... 8/5/2005

I've only owned Volkswagens my whole life. It's the performance and value that keeps me coming back. But one thing that I hate about owning a Volkswagen is the people that I have to deal with. Perhaps it's just the way it is in Automotive industry, but I often deal with bad service from Volkswagen representatives. 2 times out of 3 when I take my car in, there's always a problem that didn't exist before I brought it in. It seems to me that they just don't double check their work. I've also never been in and out of a service station where they didn't charge me more than 50% more than what they quoted me over the phone. On top of that, some of the problems that occurs was directly related to a lack of maintenance on certain parts. Nowhere does it say in the instruction manual or any documents that I have received that these parts needed to be maintained, nor was I notified to maintain them. I can understand this if I take my car to different service stations but I've only taken them to McKenna. I've had to come back to the service station more than six times in the past so that they can fix a problem that they caused during the repair. I love Volkswagens. But sometimes I wonder why I keep coming back. I wish that some of the people that I deal with treated their customers better. Simple honesty would be much appreciated and double checking their work would save their customers a lot of time. more
