We have visited the Cat Welfare Saturday garage sale a funding for many years, and visited the shelter to just "pet" the kitties, sharing the love of "homeless " cats. Pros: ...

Wonderful no-kill shelter 8/21/2005

If you are looking to adopt a cat this is the perfect place to go. They have over 200 cats/kittens to choose from. Some are "special adoptions", cats with disabilities and others are completely healthy. The staff is wonderful at helping you find the cat right for you and your family. The place is spotless and the cats are treated like royalty. more

This is the best place to find a wonderful friend 8/6/2005

My sister introduced me to cat welfare, where I got my adorable kitten Boo. This place is dependent on donations, both monetary and physical (food, toys, litter, etc). It's a no-kill facility, so any cat that isn't adopted simply makes its home permanently at the shelter. Kittens run about $70, but it's well worth it because that includes all shots, tests for diseases, and when the kitten is old enough, spaying or neutering. Older cats cost less, but need your love even more. When you walk in, most of the cats are roaming around or sleeping in the sun. I go in often simply to visit with the cats and give them a little love. Don't go to the pet store when you can get an adorable, and affordable cat at Cat Welfare! It's worth the trip!! more

I can't say enough! 7/31/2005

I cannot say enough about these wonderful people! This is one of my favorite places in the whole world! All 4 of our kitties came from Cat welfare! This no-kill shelter is a refuge for Columbus' cats! I love to just go and visit the kitties and pet them. ONe special thing about this place is that they have a long term care facility for sick and injured cats to live out their days. Complete with a sun porch! Please consider adopting from here!!!! more

Owner Message

  • The Cat Welfare Association was founded in 1945 by a small group of people who saw the need for an organization designed specifically to help the many stray and abused cats in the Columbus area. We are a non-profit organization that's objective has always been to promote better care and understanding of cats while providing for the physical welfare of homeless cats and kittens. The cats taken into our care are strays and frequently have been abused or injured. We give them plenty of tender loving care along with any necessary medical treatment they might need. Our shelter provides a home for these cats and kittens until they are adopted-- whether it be for a short time or if they live out the rest of their lives in our shelter.
