Best

Samuel is the best hair stylist I have ever had. He gives really great recommendations on what style will look the best on you and can be really creative if that is what you want....

Worst

Since I'm a poor college student, I decided to become a training model for DiPietro Todd. I ended up getting an appt with a student who was just about to graduate to the position...

Hair model program 3/22/2006

I went here for a haircut throught their hair model program. I figured I would be in good hands as this is one of the most expensive salons in the city...unfortunately I had a horrible experience. The trainee I got decided she wanted to do a classic bob on me, even though I explicitly told her I wanted layers and only a couple inches cut off. She ignored me completely and went ahead with the bob. She cut off at least 5 inches of hair so my hair was shorter than chin length, no layers whatsover, and horribly thick and heavy at the bottom. Too short bangs topped off the disaster. Worse was that I was in the salon for SIX hours. She messed up and had a stylist come over and help her out at the end, and the woman was quite rough with my hair and kept saying over and over how the trainee shouldn't have picked a girl with asian hair. okay... So 6 hours and $15 down the drain and I was left with a cut that totally did not fit my face and was the opposite of what I wanted. Thanks a lot Di Pietro. They obviously don't care a bit about their clients when it comes to the hair modelling program. I went to Oxenrose the next day and paid another $50 just to look decent again. The stylists, reception, and manager of the training program all seemed very full of themselves. more

Hair Model 8/9/2005

I have never had my hair colored and I wanted to try without paying an exhorbitant amount, so I went to the diPietro Todd salon to inquire about being a color model. With full highlights normally costing $195, paying $30 seemed like a deal to me. I went in for a consultation and luckily for me, one of the colorist trainees was working on full highlights. She was towards the end of her 2 year training program so I felt pretty comfortable with her doing my color (many complete training elsewhere before they start the diPietro Todd training). I am still extremely happy with the end results. The only gripe I have is that she had initially told me it would take 2- 2 1/2 hours and it ended up taking nearly 4 hours. more

Great Haircut 7/27/2005

I used two different stylists so far, one for Day of Wedding Hair style, which turned out fabulous, and another for post wedding chop. The salon itself is very clean and vibrant. Ths staff are very attentive and will bring refreshments while you wait. My first stylist was great, chatty and listened to the description that I gave and made a great job of recreating it. The second stylist was less chatty but completely put me to ease regarding the style that I had chosen and executed it to perfection. I left feeling completely satisified with my experience and will be back. more

Owner Message
  • diPietro Todd Salon offers hair and make-up services for weddings and other special occasions (photo shoots, parties, a group make-over party) both in and out of the salon. We can't say enough about the importance of a consultation before any special occasion service. It's complimentary and gives you a chance to work out ideas with us, not to mention making "the day" less stressful (or if you're an optimist, even more fabulous).
