J & J Refuse is the only refuse service allowed to pick up trash in the city limits of Carrollton. Everyone is provided with a recycling tote, and special bags need to be bought. The pick-up service is the annoying part. The guy digs through the tote before taking it, making sure every little piece is actually recyclable. If there is a straw in the bottom, he makes sure to leave it. Oh, and if a pizza box happens to fall out of the tote, it isn't picked up. We put out pieces of wood and aluminum from a filing cabinet we had taken apart (no piece was longer than 3 feet), and were told they don't take appliances more than twice a year. The silly part is, if you call and complain, they'll send someone out to pick up immediately.
