Worth it for the History and Ambience 8/10/2005

This old train station is a wonderful Leucadia gem. Great outdoor seating area, lots of local charm. Service not always consistent, depends on who is behind the counter. Great coffee, good selection of muffins pastries and a few breakfast dishes (all good), which are fresh. Great neighborhood place to sit and enjoy your coffee. On weekends it can be VERY crowded! more

I agree with another reviewer...."screw starbucks' but this place can be pretty pretentious. The line out the door on weekends is ridiculous, people coming from all over to be seen it seems. Not much local flavor. But, great coffee and a beautiful old train station and a great message board if you're looking for some local info. Not my favorite place in Encinitas. more

Screw Starbucks! 8/5/2005

Forget Starbucks, this place is the best. I love the location on the 101 highway and the big house which is so comfortable to go and sit in the morning and read a paper. If you ever go, make sure to try their white mochas. This place is what keeps old town spirit alive. more

I love this little old house turned bakery thing! They serve up some really good coffee and most importantly really good sweets! They also sell little trinkets and coffees, teas, etc. One area has been converted into an art gallery. You can also get sandwiches, salads, and some breakfast items here. But most importantly sit on the deck with your food/drinks and enjoy the weather and calmness of Leucadia. more
