I bought a book for $150, they charged me for the same book three times, overdrawing my account. Not only will they not refund me the book, they won't cover to overdraft fees they caused. If you want to pay $450 for a book that is marked $150, this is the place is the best. I hope they go out of business. more

FUN STORE! 9/23/2005

Book shopping is never fun, but this place is a great place to get books because they have a great selection of other things too. Their lines are never too long, because they always have a lot of cashiers waiting for the big rush. They sell supplies, paper, back packs, MSU fan items, school clothing, and many gift items. A large store with helpful staff. I highly recomend. more

This is a great student book store. They have a lot of books and they also have school and office supplies. The prices are pretty average. The associates are very helpful. more

Full assortment of texts and accessories for class 8/21/2005

Student Book Store, or if you’re a student you would just call it SBS, is located on Grand River in a very convenient location right across from campus. SBS carries all your textbook needs but does not carry texts for either medical school or law school students. For those professional schools you will need to go either to the medical bookstore in Fee Hall or the law bookstore at The Campus Store. SBS has a great assortment of other supplies (art, drafting, software, etc) that the other bookstores simply lack. more

O.K. prices, 8/21/2005

Student book store offers ok prices. It is actually a pretty big place. They have a nice selection of art supplies and pens. They would have much better business if they were in a different location I might go there much more often, I really hate the parking situation. I would go to the college book store before this place for that reason. more

Good place for MSU Students to buy their textbooks 7/26/2005

SBS is East Lansing’s “hip” textbook store. I found that SBS was much more likely to have the textbooks I needed in stock and usually had many more used textbooks available than other area book stores. As an added bonus, SBS will validate your parking if you park in the orange hamster-cage parking ramp behind the store, which is something I wish more area businesses in East Lansing did. SBS always has plenty of registers open, so you can get on with your life and the other customers don’t see you crying after you just spent $400 on books for the semester. more

An East Lansing Classic 7/24/2005

The Student Book Store, or "SBS" as it is known to all Michigan State Students, is conveniently located directly across from Campus along Grand River Avenue. It carries a huge selection of text books, as well as MSU apparel and other logo items. During the beginning and end of the semesters, this place is JAM PACKED with students .. but not to worry, they open like 50 check-out lines to keep things moving. And to draw students in, they give away free pizza during peak times of the year. SBS is fantastic, just be ready to brave the crowds if you're going to first, or last week of the semester. more
