Spectrum Athletic Clubs

They charged my credit card for three years although I told them I wanted to pay monthly membership by check with no commitment....they did not want to give me a refund...totally unwilling to negotiate anything except the last month that needed to be charged !!! Are you joking...mgt was totally useless, uncaring, and didn't even apologize..!!! This club like so many corporations are all image but no substance to back it up...!!! Most good reviews are from mid-March 2007...strange no....???? more

I agreed with previous comment that the salesperson is rude trying to force potential member to pay a joining fee, which I refused and was ready to walk away. more

Spectrum is overpriced, run down, has rude sales staff, uncaring rest of staff! Would NOT recommend! Cons: Pretty much everything! more

it is hard to find a clean pool, let alone in a health club. For years, I have had to compromise my gym because of the cost of swimming. My wife and I recently relocated to Bridgeport so we joined Spectrum and we got a good club and a GREAT POOL. I am sure all of the services are good, but I had to share with my fellow swimmers out there... Pros: Clean pool, nice gym Cons: no complaints more

Hands down the best club I've ever visited. I am really excited about my new membership! The staff is friendly and the service is top notch. The equipment is top of the line brand names such as precore and freemotion. Today my family and I went to a birthday party in the Kids Club. WOW..what a party! They had bounce houses, swimming, art, a prince and princess, lunch, pinata and not to mention an amazing, outgoing staff! We will definitely be having our daughter's 7th birthday party here. When I was there, I learned about all the different programs they have to offer like Parent's Night Out, date night EVERY Wednesday, cooking class, and babysitting service. This is absolutely worth going and experiencing! more

When I visit my aunt in Valencia, I am able to go to Spectrum and enjoy their facility. Already being a member at the Thousand Oaks club, I am very please between the consistency of great service from both the clubs. The Kids Club has a spacious setting with constantly something going on! We just experienced Parent's Night Out and my kids had an absolute blast...not to mention that I had a night out with my husband and family. I am looking forward to six hours of freedom next month! more

This club is AMAZING!! Lot's of fun member functions. BBQ's, Dance Parties, Sporting events, Wine Tasting and Mixers. They even have a kids club Day care for the little ones. My daughter loves it. A chance to interact with her friends. They offer kids culinary classes, bounce houses, Fun parties and even a parent's night out once a month where you can drop the kids off for 6 HOURS!! and have a date !! Then there is also Lator Gator where you can leave the kids for 4 hours to do shopping during the day or a much needed Spa Day!! Not to mention the basketball and volleyball legues. You can always get on the cardio equipment, most of which have thier own T.V.s on the equipment, and there are so many excersice classes! Plus a new Healthmiles deal where you earn up to $350 a year just for doing what you would anyway!! This is the best fitness facility around Bar-None!!! Pros: Kids Club, Friendly people more

I am a Triathlete and I think the introductory program they run at Valencia Spectrum is awesome. The Try-A-Tri program is great for the complete novice. They have a swim coach one night a week and bike/run session on saturday mornings. If you are thinking about doing a triathlon this summer, you should check it out. Spectrum is truly a step up. Not only are the programs, classes and trainers awesome, the front desk offers the best customer service i've experienced any where. The club offers a variety of innovative programs that target specific populations. There is no comparing a 24 hour fitness or LA fitness to Spectrum. Its like comparing a BMW to a Toyota in all areas. Pros: There is no waiting for a class or equipment Cons: None that I can think of. more

Spectrum Club Valencia is by far the best health club I have ever been to! The staff exceeds my expectations every visit with friendly faces and a knowledgeable staff. I am never intimidated to ask questions, and feel very ""at home"" there. I highly recommend this club! This club is also very clean and provides the best ammenities available in a health club! Being a young mom that enjoys working out I love dropping my 2 and 4 year old in the Spectrum child care. The staff is personable and knowledgable in handling with my kids. It is clean and safe. They even have bouncey houses and special events for our little ones. In fact there is a Easter egg hunt planned this weekend at Heritage park and it is FREE !! They offer culinary classes and parents nights out along with other fun,creative activities. They encourage parent(s) to work out together. Can not say enough about our Kids club. The whole club is great !! Friendly staff and clean !!! Got to go......time to get a quickwork out in.Check it out. I just signed up with a lady named Joyce.She will let you try it out so you can see first hand the great value. All I know is my kids are HAPPY and so am I !!! I really enjoyed my time at the Spectrum Club. It was clean and the staff was very friendly. I would definitly recommend this gym over any other I have ever been to. Pros: Clean, Friendly, Atmosphere Cons: There weren't many that i could think of more

Spectrum is by far the best Health club I have ever been to. The customer service is amazing. They have everything. When I say everything I mean it! Cafe, kids club, TV's on the cardio equipment, tons of classes, pool, two b-ball courts and even computers you can surf the web on. Not to mention the locker rooms, lotion, q-tips, hairspray, hair dryers, mouthwash, showers with shampoo and conditioner is all included. A full towel service as well as sauna and steam room. I would definitely recommend this club. They have barbeques every Sunday during the summer. That says it all right there. They do everything possible to cater to there members. I actually like going to work out now! They are worth every penny. Pros: customer service, cleanliness, not crowded, parking, locker rooms, size more

What a change. I have been a member at Spectrum before and then when some lower priced competition moved into the area I decided to give them a shot. That didn't last long at all! I very quickly became fed up with the impersonal and unfriendly ""feel"" there. It is a night and day change from Spectrum. Sure the fees were lower but you can't even compare the experience. I am at a certain point in my life where I appreciate and am willing to pay for the finer things such as towels, first rate locker room amenities, and a caring and friendly staff. They are truly dedicated to the members experience. The club does an amazing job with events for the whole family and my wife wouldn't put our kids in any other child care service at some gym. I have a personal trainer that is a far cry from the ""kids"" they have working as trainers at LA Fitness and his knowledge is unbelievable. He is a professional in his field and his passion is unbelievable for what he does. The events at the club during the summer are unreal and we look forward to them every year. I will never go anywhere else again with the hopes of finding something ""better."" This is it and it is worth every dollar I spend there! I had a membership here for a little while and although i never went as much as i should have i actually liked to go. IT is big and clean. The women bathrooms are huge and inside they have a steam room.One of my favorite things to do after i work out! Sometimes i would come here just to go into the steam room. It is so relaxing and quiet. I wish i still had a membership just for that! more

This place is so overrated. Yes, it's big...but not worth the value. You pay a large sum each month and it's not even open 24 hours. Your better off paying about $20 a month and working out at 24 hr fitness. more
