This is truly an amazing restaurant! So beautiful and relaxing we did not want to go home after our wonderful dining experience. The food was top quality and the service first rate. Did I mention the view! Every table has a wonderful view of the beautifully landscaped grounds complete with tame ducks swimming around in a little pond and little rabbits darting in and out from under the ferns. What a show we enjoyed a cocktail and a nice glass of wine. The servers were very attentive as well as the owner whom visited the tables making sure all was taken care of. I ordered the Filet, medium rare with their famous oven brown potato. My husband ordered the Ribeye , medium with baked potato. The salads were beautiful, fresh and crisp and accompanied by a mini loaf of fresh baked honey wheat bread and Smithy?s famous little cornfritters. The French and blue cheese dressing is made in house and was excellent! When the char grilled steaks arrived they were exactly as ordered and very tender and very delicious. We enjoyed the relaxing music and beautiful surroundings as we dined. After dinner we were so relaxed and content that in order to stay and enjoy Smithy?s a bit longer we each ordered ice cream drinks, we have never had a better Brandy Alexander! As you can tell we totally enjoyed Smithy?s, it is truly a special place
Pros: Ambience, Service, Dining
Cons: Not far from railroad crossing, but oh well.
